I bought a Fiesta SXI from Harpreet Ford Moti Nagar in September 2008. Since then, all services have been done at their workshop. I had an unfortunate tryst with a ‘Fouji’ truck in the New Delhi Cantt. Area, within the first 6 months of the purchase. Now, let me recount my experience with the service workshop & body shop work of Harpreet Ford Moti Nagar.
When my doors were replaced, the total time taken by their body shop was approx 10 days. Car submitted on 18-12-2008, delivered on the 27-12-2008. During this time the car must have been left in the open without the two doors for a substantial portion of this time. Unfortunately, I had to take delivery late in the evening because these people are in general pretty slow movers. Next morning I discovered that the interiors of the brand new car was in a mess, the beige velvet of the roof & the beige leather of the seats had changed colour to you guess what. I immediately rang up the workshop & intimated them. They promised to come back to me on that. In the next 15 days when I was reaching nowhere with the workshop, the sales guy who sold me the car, helped me with the contact no. of their VP.
When I called him up, he promised immediate rectification & had a driver pick up the car from my residence. The car came back in the evening with the dashboard & tyres sprayed with gloss and I was told that the car has been cleaned. The stains on the velvet of the roof & seats were as it had been before. This incident was followed up by more telephone calls & email from my side. Once again their VP called the car to the showroom to inspect himself. The car was sent back after inspection and admission by the VP that the interiors were indeed dirty and that they'll take the car back another day & clean it. The car went to the workshop a third time and came back properly clean this time. Please note that the car made 3 trips to the body shop to get the rectification done. It's my petrol that they liberally burnt, because, after all it's my car.
In the meantime, I noticed that the paint on the two replaced doors were coming off from the top edges. I reported this in the succeeding service, on 05-04-2009, but nothing was done on that. During the second service, the service advisor suggested that I get the car’s underbody painted. I was explained that it’d cost me approx Rs. 1200/- which would include underbody painting now, and one coat each time in the next two services. After this service, I had the 20K service done from the same workshop, but the second time underbody paint was not done.
When I booked the car for the 3rd service on 29-10-2009, I myself went & met the VP, brought up the point of door paint before him and he came down with me to inspect the car himself. He promised the service & paint job will be finished in 3 hours time & car handed over to me. That day I got the car in the evening after 6 hours of submission for service, that too because I happened to request engineers at every stop. Else, I fear, I would have got the delivery even later. While taking delivery, I reported my dissatisfaction in the customer feedback form and since then I have received 10 calls from various people in ‘Ford’ Chennai, and ‘Harpreet Ford’ each of whom requested me to explain the problems and promised that someone from the Harpreet Ford workshop will contact me soon and resolve the problems. Last Friday, 07-05-2009, I received a call from the GM of Harpreet Ford, and I explained the problems all over again, and was promised a call from the workshop within the EOD and a resolution in 2 days time. I have not received any calls from the workshop so far! Next, at my own fault, I hit a couple of trees while reversing, inside the DGIS premises in Sankar Vihar. It was beyond midnight and it was dark, as a result of which, my rear bumper & dickey cover had dents & had to be repaired.
I submitted the car on 05-11-2009 and it was delivered on 09-11-2009. I took the delivery in the evening and next day morning noticed that the ‘Fiesta’, ‘1.6’ & ‘Duratech’ logos were missing from the dickey cover. I noted that was charged for the Fiesta 1.6 badge, in the charge slip. I called up the body shop, and was told to send the immediately & the badges will be put on the car. My office is in Noida and I sent the car with an office driver, all the way to Moti Nagar. When the car reaches him, Mr. Chander tells me that he does not have stock of the badge and hence I’ll have to send the car back in a couple of days! When I disagreed he took the said badges from an accident vehicle and put them on my car saying that it’s a temporary arrangement and that they’ll be replaced with new ones once he has stock.
I have reminded him twice since, but, till date the same have not been replaced.
