Its has been a while since I have not been allotted a head for laughter. Therefore I shall post this review under Handling Depression & when allotted a slot I shall have it changed.
*I asked a newly married couple, which was the first movie they saw after marriage?
They answered “ The Divorce' *
I m sure this would have brought a smile onto each one of your faces. It has been proved in science that laughter is the best medine. Does anyone need a reason to laugh. I don’t. The funda is Laugh & Let Laugh. I get immense pleasure in passing a funny comment in most reviews here on MS which at most times is helpful bcoz it gets a person out from a grumpy mood. A person might be tensed about anything but by listening to you or reading a funny comment, it does bring a smile to ones face. Just for that split second he has some relief. People laugh for all kinds of reasons, employing a wide variety of types of humor from simple expressions of joy to sarcasm. My intention is to explore not only the various types of humor at our disposal, but also the ways we can use humor in our lives to adjust to adversity and promote our own mental, emotional, and physical health.
Everyday I post a thought for the day on my profile, from now on I will also post a joke of the day. Look out for that!
WHY LAUGHTER
Imagine never having to exercise again for good health. Imagine chuckling, snorting-laughing your way through life. According to many scientists, laughter is the key to better health. Through laughter:
Ø Blood pressure is lowered
Ø The immune system and mental health of a person become stronger.
Ø Positive stress is given off by the body.
Ø Improvement of mental health.
Laughter helps in confidence building & enables one to gain self control & esteem. Laughter gives one hope to get through the various diseases and forget about the pain.
In laughter, where the individual really breaks up, even the legs and arms are involved. During this phase, heart rate, breathing and circulation are speeded up. When the laughter subsides, the pulse rate drops below normal and the muscles become deeply relaxed. The body is revitalized by what some kind of internal massage.
Laughter also improves coordination of brain functions, thereby increases alertness and memory; lifts depression; reduces stress; brings pain relief; aids ventilation and clears mucous in the respiratory system; increase blood oxygen by bringing in fresh air; and strengthens internal muscles by tightening and releasing them.
Laughter as a means of pain control can be attributed to several things. It reduces muscle tension, distracts attention from the pain, has a positive effect on a person's attitude and can actually stimulate the release of the body's natural painkillers. In addition, laughter increases oxygenation of the blood which further promotes healing. The lack of humor and laughter in an individual who normally displays a sense of humor is an indicator of depression.
*Laughter is to life what shock absorbers are to automobiles.
It won't take the potholes out of the road, but it sure makes the ride smoother*

PRACTICE OF LAUGHTER AS A CURE
One can see that in many places there are these half an hour laughter clubs that have come up, where just people keep laughing non stop. This is a vey effective method. Its not difficult at all. Since laughter is contagious, if one person starts the others follow. Reports say that this method helped a lot of people come out of the Sept 11 trauma.
Hospitals today officially encourage patients to laugh. Many hospitals have instituted humor rooms, comedy carts full of costumes and gag props, closed-circuit comedy television channels and visits from clowns and why not it is the cheapest available cure.
The beauty of humor is that if it is lost or misplaced, it can be created in the time it takes to smile. So Don't worry—be happy! I would like to end this review with another joke that I heard a few days ago & happened to put it in one of my comments also:
What is the thing that a man can proudly tell the other man that mine is smaller than yours? Don’t think too much you corrupt minds, It’s a Cell Phone
Thanx a lot. I would love to see ur feedback in the form of comments.
