Chetan Bhagat, the name sounds somuch effective, being an Indian author of great novels especially based on love, romantic novels. As a wonderful author he gives very familiar novels namely three mistakes of my life, half girlfriend, three states, one night at call centre and many more.
When I first came to know about release of his marvelous novel HALF GIRLFRIEND, too much excited to read it and know about all the contents supplied by this romantic authors. I knew that this novel must include the story of our general lifestyle and based on romantic ideas. Not only these from the title it was really been identified that the novel must be unique and such fabulous as all we can guess what means "half girlfriend". Those days the name Chetan Bagat was also became a brand and by remembering his names I got neat pictures of one night at call centre and so other previously read novels.
The expressions of love& bossom provided by author is quite impressive as he started his writing focusing on Rich English speaking girl Rita who was extraordinary beautiful resider of Delhi. A poor boy namely madhab from Bihar and both were good basketball player and for this sports quota they got their seat in the college. Here the author reflects our Indian traditional concept as in regular manner there always will be a love relationship between a poor and rich.
The boy was too weak in English for the same girl was too prompt in English, this was also another disparity among them.
Not only this they were also met each other in basketball field while having their practice and such situation of love building process was quite unfamiliar and thus the author set it very well.
But the core part of the novel is here that when the Bihari boy proposed her, she instantly refused and coined a relationship to be only half girlfriend. I think never before anyone is known to this term. And here author justify its meaning in his well impressive writing skill that she only wants physical relationship and not any other more.
Laterly the charming girl married to London settled businessman and the relationship was broken with earlier Bihari boy. But she became a divorcee after certain year and come contact with past love. And a happy ending was also found as we expect from every story.
Till now I have read all novels of Chetan Bhagat and if you take love story generally all novels matched with this novel. But three state can be quite comparable with it as here the story based on the girl and boy coming from different regions of country and built their love in college. And the rest story proceeds.
I think I can't provide a suitable title to this novel more attractive than Half girlfriend. But a pretty term comes to my mind that Half girlfriend: theory of love. Ultimately for the same I recommend everyone to read this novel and come closer to its concept. Have a nice day.
