Grahan is one of the very unlucky movies.[lack of good publicity man!]grahan ,the hame production of jaggu dada directed by K.Shashilal Nair is based on paro(manisha koirala-she is absolutely brilliant)who is a poor,sweet,innocent girl who teaches classical dance 2 school children.After one of her performances,she is abucted n brutally raped by Sanjay Acharya[Prasad Purandare-is he an actor?!],the son of the chief minister.
but not just that,she is also kept as a prisoner until her wounds r cured n all the signs of injury r erased!she is tortured to the core- a real third digree torture.manisha koirala excells in every single scene.paro is finally released n thrown on the roads.a journalist rescues her.
an FIR is files against sanjay n his father is informed about his son's act.his father is a sincere person n unable 2 bare this trauma,he dies of a shock.sanjay persuades his sister Sunita[anupama verma- she is better a model]to stand in the elections 4 the chief minister post.
during that time time,paro's lover also declines her as his family does not want him 2 get married 2 a rape victim.However,sanjay is arrested on the charges of rape.Sunita pesuades her lover Jaggu[jakie shroff-mm....good!] ,who is a lawyer 2 fight the case 4 sanjay.when asked sanjay clearky denies of raping anyone.sanjay is released as jaggu proves paro a prostitute during the trials.
on the celebration party,sanjay gets drunk n confesses the rape 2 jaggu.he is shocked n decides 2 do everything right 4 paro.paro loses her mental balance n when jaggu searches 4 her,he finds her digging 4 food in a garbage dump.[i again say manisha koirala is amazing.]
jaggu takes paro away from the city n helps her regain her memory.when she comes back,she does something which she feels is right n that gives her mental satisfaction.what happens then?does she get justice?????
thats up 2 u.the screenplay of the movie s really saddening.its a weak point.the direction could have been better.as per the story,its the same old story.the starcast is not too hot but the performances r good.jakie is good n manisha is toooooooo good.worth a watch!!!!
