I booked a cab for one of my lady colleagues. She had to go to Uran Islampur from Pune. The quoted price which I was given was 3400 rupees. I paid it online full. In the app, I could see 220 km were allowed beyond which 10 rupees would be charged per km. Time duration was mentioned as 4hrs. I was informed half an hour buffer is there for the time limit. Beyond which per hour 120 rupees would be charged.
The lady traveller for whom I had booked the cab started her journey around 9:15 am and she reached her destination at 1:30 pm..which makes the total duration to be 4 hours 15 mins.
When she reached her destination the driver asked her to pay Rs 304 extra. When she enquired why as the total kms have not exceeded 220km and the time has not exceeded as well. He started shouting coming out of the car saying "you guys come from other states and behave like VIPs you will have to pay as its showing in the app. GIVE ME MY MONEY OR ELSE!!"
As she was alone she panicked and called me to have a talk with the driver. She was literally crying there.
I talked with driver and told him that how can you charge extra as the total kms is 215kms and the limit is 220kms the time duration is also within the assigned range. He started shouting at me and told "you give me my money and call the call-centre and take refund from them but you have to pay me". I asked him to at least wait for 2 mins and let me have a talk with support people so that they can resolve the issue. He said "you first pay me I don't have much time for all these I have other bookings as well. I WANT MY MONEY".
As the driver was shouting frantically I asked my lady colleague to pay him and get out of there as this all was happening in the middle of the road. NOT EVEN IN THE CAR. In the MIDDLE OF THE ROAD infront of all the people who were there and enjoying the drama. JUST FOR RS 304.
She paid the driver and with utter shame and humiliation left from there. I can only imagine how she felt.
I raised the complaint with support people. When they reached out to the driver he informed that he didn't take any money and that I was lying to get some refund. Can you believe it????
Thank God my colleague made the payment via GPay so she sent me the screenshot and I forwarded that to Gozocabs as well.
But I don't think anything is going to happen so be AWARE!!!. SPECIALLY WHEN LADY TRAVELLES ARE TRAVELING ALONE VIA GOZO.
