We purchased the Godrej Smartwash about two and a half years back. It was the ideal thing back then not having to wash and then rinse by yourself but later I found it to be the worst mistake of my life. Marriage is bliss compared with this washing machine..lol:-)
Right from the very begining we started having problems from it tumbling over to it breaking down. I’ve had it repaired so many times that I’ve lost count and by my calculations give or take a few it would of been cheaper buying a new one altogether.
Everytime I put a new wash load into it it tumbles and makes this loud annoying noise in which the entire house comes running up to see whats happened. I get worried and anxious each time this happens as we have many children running back and forth in the house. Then whats even more annoying is that each time this happens I have to restart the machine which means the cycle has to be done all over again. Each wash cycle takes roughly about 45 to 60 minutes depending on how heavy the load is. I’m not concerned about the electricity but the frustration especially nowadays during this monsoon season as clothes are not drying. It’s painstaking and emotional for me to have to repeat the process. Okay I know theres not much to be done apart from putting the laundry in adding the detergent and pressing the start button but you have to understand from my point of view it’s not worth it.
It’s automatic so I dont have the task of having to rinse and all. The laundry comes out clean which is but obvious.
Now to the nitty gritty... Customer care at Godrej is pathetic. We had like a two year guarantee on our washing machine in which if anything happened to it it would replaced or repaired free of charge and the funny thing is that the last time the Godrej broke down the repairman did the needful and then started asking for money, we continuously told them we had a guarantee and even showed them the legal papers but he was not ready to listen. Kept on insisting that the guarantee was over so I called up Godrej and I explained the situation.
The customer is always right by far. The repair guy wasnt too pleased though.
Anyways the next time it breaks time I’m going to have it trashed and then Im buying a new one.
