I bought a Godrej split 1.5 Ton A.C. about two year ago. It is constantly giving problems right from installation. At first, the remote stopped working. In a split AC this means you cannot use the AC at all, since there are no controls on the indoor unit. I was told the controller unit had conked off. Fortunately, this was replaced under warranty.Then the A.C. started dripping water inside the room. There were several complains made. The mechanic arrives after twenty phone calls and waiting one week. Then he says, the drain pipe is pinched (blocked) but he is not authorized to change it. We must speak to the service center. This begins a new cycle of numerous phone calls with no results.The Louvre mechanism has also failed.
This means one part of the room gets very cold but other parts remain warm. Immediately after the warranty, I covered the A.C. under a comprehensive service contract. But now the company says the Louvre mechanism is not covered.It is impossible to reach a responsible company official.Friends, if you want cheap stuff, go ahead and buy a Bajaj fan and NEVER make the mistake of buying a Godrej A.C.
