I'm currently using Gmail, Yahoomail & Outlook.com
Just like most of google products,
Gmail is fast(The difference is noticeable particularly when your internet speed goes down) and simple to use. The user interface makes it easy to have a quick look at your recent mails. The font, text size, contrast and white space have been used to good effect compared to Yahoomail & Outlook.
Categories/Labels
All your incoming emails are categorized into 3 basic categories
Primary(This is where normally most of the emails arrive),
Social(Emails from social websites like social networking or dating websites), and
Promotions(Promotional/Marketing emails).
You can also create/assign labels to emails for more convenience.
Ads
Usually, just 2 ads display at top on Promotions Tab. They just look like 2 emails there. They don't cause any obstruction in normal viewing. Yahoomail displays one comparatively bigger Ad on the right side.
Email Attachments
You can either view, download or save attachments to your google drive.
Task Lists(An Important Feature)
You can add emails to a tasklist(there is one primary tasklist and you can create new ones) and put some informational note and due date for it.
Further, you can put these tasklists on your iGoogle Portal.
Integration with all other google services is always a plus.
