Another review by me on a restaurant which I have visited last week, and I must say this restaurant is good if not the best. Just randomly searched for reviews on global fusion here, and surprisingly din't find any reviews on global fusion.
Recently my bro came back from Dubai and he comes once in a year, and whenever he comes back we have a great time exploring good restaurant around the city. This time also was no different, and we visited many classy restaurant, to name a few Yoko sizzlers, Urban Tadka, Rude lounge etc. But I preferred writing a review on this as there was no review on global fusion and there are many special memories that I share with this restaurant. The thing that surprised me was that this restaurant had 2 branches in Mumbai and I din't find either of them here. And I still remember this restaurant was trending at few places that I visited.
Food and presentation was awesome here, especially the starters were good and very tasty. There was a wide range of variety in starters. There was chicken crispy, deep fried crisp prawns which I would say was very yummy and delicious. Even starters in veg were yummy, as I tried a couple of them. The starters itself was so yummy that I gulped all the starters one by one leaving very less space in my tummy, for the main course and desserts. The food was beautifully presented, especially the sushi were beautifully presented. Everything was systematic and well placed as per people needs. Firstly the soups were placed followed by starters and then the main course and at the end the desserts. The Khar branch of global fusion is a bit confusing and one has to search for the counters.
So I would rate the food and presentation as 4/5.
Ambiance and decor was perfect and well designed, with good music going around its an ideal place for couples, provided there isn't huge crowd as moving around freely is a problem. The place is well decorated and built very user friendly. This was the best that I liked about this place. It seemed very comfortable at least to me as I had traveled a lot that day in hot sun before entering the restaurant.
So I would rate the ambiance and decor 4/5.
Customer service is a bit slow, its buffet system but when ordered via the staff the food is delivered late at the table. It's better to help oneself rather than ordering. And the varieties too can be explored. But it being a buffet system one can't crib about this place too much. The pre-bookings were done without any hesitation and we got entry easily and were assisted nicely by the staff for table of 2. And one more thing worth mentioning was that the staff were extremely polite and humble and ready to assist people around, it was good seeing this behavior of theirs.
So I would rate the Customer service 3.5/5.
I would say that yes it was a value for money restaurant, and can be at-least tried once if not frequently. But it is a bit on the expensive side but still worth a try once surely especially considering the wide range of starters, main course and desserts. Cost for 2 people comes around 2200/- excluding alchohol.
So I would rate the VFM 3/5.
One unique thing that I noticed is that the menu keeps changing frequently so people who make a visit frequently can have different types of starters and desserts. Many buffets restaurants keep their menu similar for weeks/months. So people who make frequent visit get bored but one is never bored here.
One of my friend said that his friend saw a small rat roaming inside the restaurant, if its so than the staffs really needs to revamp the restaurant. I am damn scared of rats and can create a havoc if I see one, so I would rather prefer to act blind when I see one and move out of the restaurant. I found the Andheri branch quite clean although.
This restaurant does not accept coupons although and is very big con because a lot can be saved if they allow coupons.
There is even bar facility here, but one has to pay separately for the drinks and the buffet comprises of just 2 drinks and the rest are paid ones, while as compared to the 2 drinks the paid drinks seems more better.
Payment was done in credit card by my bro, and it was damn smooth and trouble free.
One thing that I missed was the free wi-fi as I missed out on using the check-in feature of facebook.
The parking space also was pretty descent, as we parked our scooty in the basement. The starters were yummy and mouth watering, coming to the main course it was good but not the best. And the desserts were good too. In desserts too there was good variety, and baskins and robins clubbed with them.
Tried almost all the flavors, and the mud chocolate cake was good too, and the jelly too was yum and fresh. I would say that this restaurant is good and can be tried once.
Maybe some may like it may be some wont, but my take on this restaurant is that it can be surely tried once without any hesitation.
Final take is that it depends from people to people but I would surely recommend this restaurant to my friends and more people. Hope all my friends found this review very useful :-) More reviews on restaurants coming soon...........................
