The Genting Highlands is about 50 kilometers from Kuala Lumpur. We took the Genting Cable System is the fastest in the world and the safest route into the heart of the city.
As we went up my husband had a hand over his eyes and was drinking some Scotch from his flask. He missed the breathtaking view of the lush vegetation and steep mountainsides. I saw mist coming from Kuala Lumper.
We stated at the Genting Highlands Resort Hotel and for our 3 days we paid$265.00 USD
The hotel has over 900 rooms. There was a Casino and an indoor heated swimming pool,
There were so many places to eat we almost didn't want to leave the hotel. The only restaurant we could eat at was the VIP Restaurant because we didn't have a gold card.
We did try the food at the Imperial Rama, Ming Ren, Emperor's Court, Good Friends Express Restaurant, Fortune Corner, Good Luck Restaurant, Pizza Factory and Spice Garden.
There was an Arcade that had Starbucks Coffee, Baskin Robbins, Famous Amos, Hotdog 1901 and Sushi King.
There are two other Hotels here the Colmar Tropicale, (it looks like a French Castle, First World, (Guinness World Records rated it the largest hotel in the world), Highlands Hotel, Resort Hotel and the Awana Genting Highland.
Shopping:
We looked through the sops at the First World Plaza but the items were quite expensive.
I found the prices better at the Skyway Shopping Arcade. I spent a lot of time at Grition Art and Crafts. I bought a few butterfly magnets and local fruit magnets to give away as gifts. They cost 350RM each. I couldn't pass up buying some things at the Country's Tid-Bits & Candies Cottage. We bought a few small clay pottery items at Tenmoku Pottery Shop.
The Park:
There is a Theme Park with replicas of the Eiffel Tower, the Great Wall of China, and Big Ben.
The Adults Rides:
The Pirate Ship, the Flying Coaster, Spinner, Super Toboggan, Cyclone, Bumper Boats, Flying Dragon, Rolling Thunder Mine Train, Sungei Rejang Flume Ride, Corkscrew, Grand Prix Fun Kart and the Space Shot.
Family Rides:
The Monorail, Astro Fighter, Tea Cup, Pirate Train, Flying Jumbo, Mini Train, Boating, Space Adventure, Antique Car, Matahari, Dinosaurland and the Double Deck Carousel.
Children Rides:
The Rodeo Rider, the Children Playpen and a few Kiddie Rides. These are the rides my husband liked best!
Getting Back:
My husband refused to get on the Cable System so we took the bus and reached Kuala Lumpur about 40 minutes lateR
What I Thought: It was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of from Kuala Lumpur but I would rather go to Las Vegas.
Thanks for reading my review.
