Its true that if you have imagination and and desire then its get transformed into ability and you can conquer the world.
But..calling tail a leg...it doesnt become so..dog dont or cant walk with tail..
Its reality..and reality is always harsh and tough to digest...
In 2004,Sony brought copied version of American idol on Indian Television with much hoopla and to be frank,whatever people might have to say about it,in reality ,it was big success.
With viral and effective marketing,new (though stolen) concepts of interactive format of audience and contestant..
People liked it.
No doubt,people next-to-door became overnight stars.They became household names.
Who was going to hold back ? Zee Tv brought SA RE GA MA PA ,Channel V brought on something and all of sudden we had so much of talent on display...!
And now this galaxy of stars (?) that we chosen on our own (Thanks to SMS voting,and cellular services should thanks us ) puts forward harsh reality..
Where are those stars today? and how much they are shining ? answer will turn everyone''s face grim.
With what goal they came ? singing for big banners ? giving playbacks to likes of SRK and others ? and occasional event performances and shows.right ?
But its other way around.Thats bitter truth.
None of them be it Abhijeet,sana,debojit,rahul,qazi,ruprekha has won single song to sing for any good banner.
And dont make mistake,its been more than one year now after they get crowned..If anything is there thats shining like dimond..people wont take it too long to get it.. samazne waale ko ishaara kaafi hai..
So where these all people ?
Well,people who won lacs of votes which probably came from every corner of INDIA..these days sing for
A.stage shows B.Wedding Receptions C.Private parties D.Pub,Mall Inaugurations !
They dont know..where they are going!
Was this thing for which people kept voting them ? Not exactly !
So where are those promises by Anu Malik,Himesh ,Jatin lalit and others that they will give break to their favorite singers ?
Take himesh..he has been doing so many films..is anyone appearing there on his list from SA RE GA MA PA ?
STERN TRUTHS :
1.Singer Or performer (C)hip-hop ?
Is that all of these contestants were made performers.Not genuine singers.
Have You seen Kavita,Sadhana sargam doing dance around while singing ? I have gone for recent generation singers..forget about past..
2. Lack of patience :
Take Suresh Wadkar ,he is here since 1978 ,Take Sonu nigam,had to struggle for 10 years..
They worked hard ,polished their voice and cemented place here.
What about QAZI and company ? Journey is downward slide rather than other way..No of shows he does are getting reduced rather than increasing...
3.fame first ?
This Nasha of becoming overnight (SMS) star has overdone and made base wrong.
My strong opinion is unless industry doesnt accept them,its of no use.
Take Sonu,Kunal gaanjawala.music directors made these people acceptable to common audience.
Here people voted for regional bias,cute smile,attractive face..now thats all over and they all are ''facing'' reality.
If people chosen Abhijeet,debojit and even others runner ups..they could not win single song to their credit from film industry.
4.Biggest( hidden) truth
SONY''s INDIAN IDOL experts kept talking about X FACTOR amongst contestants.
But with my little knowledge of 7 years of learning music and learning for music industry inner sources,NONE of these all have that extra thing to crack here..thats my personal opinion.
When settled are already here,you have to have that something extra.
Take Sunidhi Chauhan,she had that extra edge..ability to sing in low pitch and had extra glaze or shine.
Take KK,SHAAN,KUNAL,SONU,SUKHWINDER,SHANKAR Mahadevan..spot distinctiveness..its clear.
I dont find anything that can beat this big boys from whole famed lot.
And thats the biggest reason ,they were restricted to mere small and medium level events rather than big banners.
Last word :
No doubt that both parties,channel and contestants got big bucks and fame overnight..
Even contestants will tell themselves ,they could not have got such bank balance with any other occupation at this age.
But both parites fell flat on face to win industries heart which matters most.
And it looks as if such talent factory production will be done with and has to be so because one feels that these ''products '' werent properly dealt with and were victimised and got misleading popularity.
Final word : We rate ability in people by what they finish, not by what they attempt.
