Food for Thought- How to make a friend
Sep 30, 2006 10:33 AM 3565 Views

It is with great pleasure I serve the Dish of this day “The Process of Success”.

I’m sure many of us have been for a party or a gathering of friends or a fellowship meal and at these gatherings there is a time when we are served or there is self service of food in our plate.

Can I ask you something? Do you eat the plate too? Or only the food you require, for the nourishment of your body, from the plate.

Yes, we don’t eat the plate, we just eat the food we require from the plate and then either keep the plate in for washing or if it is disposable, we bin it.

In today’s life, we too get a lot of people to give us a lot of encouragement, positive energy, junk talk, discouragement, rejection and negative energy. Just take and digest what we can and what we cannot, just bin it, and do not take what you have binned personally or to your heart, because when you accept these negative energies, chew it and digest it, and absorb it into your system, it becomes poison which seeps into your soul and one can go in for failure.

A few years ago my best friend Harry became a salesman. He sold many things like Herbal Juice, Honey, Insurance plans ( he liked variety), and went on to become a sales manager for a reputed foodstuff company.

He came to me to seek my help when he first started to sell his products, because he was rejected by his very first client he met, and what I told him, I’m sharing with you.

He made a lot of money later as a Sales Manager, but he earned something more, which was far more important than money. He learned that he could never be successful until he was rejected and the more times he got rejected, the greater he succeeded.

For every 5 people he spoke to, 4 rejected him and 1 helped him close the sale. Using his calculation, to make 10 sales, all he had to do was to approach and talk to 50 people. My secret to him was – to reject the rejection and not to take NO as a negative but as a Next Opportunity. When he was rejected, many of those that said NO to him also discouraged him but he picked up what was important and binned the rest.

Because to turn a light on we need more Positive and a little of Negative.

With my teaching, he learned that every time he got rejected, he was one more step closer to Success.

When the winds of change come blowing through your reality, be careful not to let them carry your vision off with them. Dreams are meant to come true. It isn’t simply disbelief that extinguishes a passionate vision, but a lack of constant attention to the elements that make it real.

Wish each and every one of you a successful day and do not let rejection turn you the wrong way.

Best Regards
