Date 31 October 2008 I purchased Seagate SATA 250 GB HDD from PC World Computers shop Jalgon(Maharashtra).
May 2009(after 7 months), I was playing a game and suddenly my computer hanged. I press the reset button to restart the pc but got "disk boot failure error message". HDD wasn't detected in BIOS setting. Tried everything but HDD was crashed.
My computer have power supply from UPS and no electricity problems. From the first day HDD was properly attached to cabinet and no chance of physical damage.
15 June 2009 I claimed warranty for my HDD from Computer shop Jalgaon. He sent the hdd to Mumbai in the same week for replacement.
Approx. 1 month later they told me that my Hard Disk had a physical damage.
I called customer support no.(18004254535) but they were unable to tell details and they gave me Mumbai andheri's dealer's name and mobile number. His name is Rakesh who told me that my crashed HDD & Report was sent to Computers shop Jalgon. I asked Jalgon computer dealer about my HDD, he replied that they have not sent him my HDD. Actually, No one knows my HDD position.
In short no one handled my problem carefully! Before purchasing a good every one tells about their "Best", "Fast", "Responsible" Support system but After we purchase their product they forget their words.
They consider me, for causing a physical damage to my HDD. But how I am guilty if hard disk already may have a minor damage in transportation. A dealer hand over the delicate HDD packed in a small thin transparent polythene bag. there is no thermocol case, or any other safety measure for protection. A little shock may cause it internal damage. It can happen by the dealer also. why only because of customers?
What about if a HDD already have a small damage at hardware shop & it fails after few days at customer's home? Is it the fault of the customer and not the dealer or company?
I was waiting for their answer or my crashed HDD or any report from them. But its all waste of time. I really disappointed from Seagate customer support team. They only care for their big dealers and not the small customers.
1) They have not given me replacement warranty of hard disk.
2) I didn't not got written report about my hard disk.
3) No satisfactory answers from Seagate customer care.
If support team member is reading my review, I kindly request you to solve my problem! my order number is PICSGT09015609 & still 1 and 1/2 month remaining to expire my HDD warranty!
