This is very important for your own safety. Whenever you get a new gas cylinder, please check it thoroughly. IT MAY HAVE LEAKAGE!!! One incidence happened with me (24th July 2009).
I received a gas cylinder from Gas Agency (Bharat Gas - Bangalore) at my door and I kept it in kitchen. After 10 mins.I got smell of leaked gas and I found one small whole at the middle of the cylinder and gas was coming out. Luckily, we had not lighted our stove or switched on any buttons - else the result would have been disastrous!!!
Generally we are busy in our workplace and at home our mother or wife or small children are there. It may be possible that any one of them can light the burner which will be very dangerous. So please check the whole cylinder before accepting it, in front of the delivery person. If u find such leaked cylinders then immedietly report to FDA (Food and Drugs Association).
