The commonly used term management in todays world is just not managing, but also about imagining.The most common term in managing in most of the well-read books is ''POSDCORB''.
p - planning
o - organizing
s - staffing
d - directing
c - controlling
o - outsourcing
r - resourcing
b - budgeting
Have the management philosophers taken into account the concept of leadership.If there is no effective leader then where does management stand?
Management is basically understanding your superiors and subordinates followed by a decission that suits both the best.Then what about u?.I dont have answer for this.
Management is also about leading and not dominating.The question to be answered is ''Are u a good team player?'' Ofcourse it is implied that you must posses the right technical skills.To manage your assignment\project successfully it is also essential that your followers/subordinates have a good morale and motivated.It is all about understanding and respecting the perception and view point of others - sometimes you will even have to do a compromise or a sacrifice.That is good management.Management does not have a specific definition, it is upto each one how he wants to carry out his working.There is nothing good nothing bad.
Let us take an illustration of our day to day life:-
You have to attend a party and obviously ur pals are forcing you, at the same u have a family function to attend.
A difficult decission definitely for most of us.
I'am not a good manager, so I leave it to u all to decide, but at the end of the day if u are happy with ur decission then u are a good manager, if u have satisfied/convinced both the sides then u are a good manager or rather an ideal manager.
There is no need to browse tens of books to know about management, it is all about urself, all about ur understanding others and analyzing the decision and forming a decision.A bad decision does not mean that u are poor in managing things but it is necessary that u learn and nourish them, make others aware.
Write your own story, techniques, strategy and formula, to manage in a natural way.I personally dont believe in doing MBA in management.I dont want to waste my time to know the orthodox theories written years back when today ''change is the only constant''.Experience and imagination will lead u to be a good manager.Managers are not formed overnight, it is dedication to work, understanding the ambiance and a lot more.The list is endless.
From my viewpoint no one is perfect, but the question is how he covers his hassles. Itz all a sugar coated stuff buddy.
Be confident, enthusiastic, perseverance, honest, patient and compromising attitude.
I hope to learn more about management from u all...
