General Safety Tips
Jun 06, 2024 04:05 PM 875 Views

These general safety tips apply to all electric appliances in your kitchen and home.

Regular Maintenance- Ensure that you schedule servicing and maintenance of appliances on time, and consult an electrician immediately any time they are not working smoothly.

User manuals- Read all user manuals and carefully follow the instructions while installing or repairing the appliance when new.

Switch it off- Switch off your appliances when not in use for a long time. Ensure you plug in and out gently so that there is no short circuit or malfunction.

Keep a fire extinguisher handy- Always be prepared for the worst and keep a fire extinguisher ready for emergencies. You cannot put out an electric fire with water as water conducts electricity.

Alarms and exits- Install smoke detectors and alarms around the house and have alternate routes of exit.

Overloading- Do not load a single outlet with too many appliances. There is a limit on the wattage an outlet can handle. Overloading might cause fires.
