I think the Director has used his artistic freedom to show his male chauvinism. Why is Geet shown as a dumb cow, always falling on Maan 10 times in a single episode, cavorting with Maan at the drop of the hat? She cannot hand him an office file without tripping over, their faces so close that it is vulgar and obscene to the extreme. Why is shown so subservient to Maan ’’Sir’’, only inflating his king sized ego, whose only passion is girls and women, and not his huge business? Geet seems to lack all self respect.
Such weakness in character of both the main protagonists, each trying to outdo the other in hypocricy, and confusing the viewer in the process. The same boring, dreary music, ’’maahi....’’ keeps playing in the background. This is so unreal. In contrast Pari is shown as the real ’’What you see is whay you get’’, yet sophisticated kind of person, with no hidden agenda. Even that other couple, Nayantara and Dev appear more genuine.
The earlier grandmother was also much sweeter. The newer actress Anju Mahendroo also seems so conniving.
All in all, this serial focuses more on human vices and weaknesses that on virtues and strengths, while showing women to be used as objects of desire only for satisfying male lust.
In the last episode, Maan single-handedly rescues Geet from her attackers in Hoshiarpur. So predictable!! He bashes up weapon-wielding, life-sized goondas in filmy style. Even Bollywood films do not take such artistic liberty for fear of the movie flopping at the box office.
The plot is dragging on ad nauseum, with the same background music. How convenient for Geet and Dev to live in the same house and not discover each other, yet how implausible!!
I think that so much praise has been lavished by the viewers on this stupid serial that the director refuses to let the story move ahead. A case of deceptive flattery ruining the course of the story!! Real insult to the viewers intelligence and sensibilities. Disgusting.
