Warning: My Experience with Gati Max Logistics – A Cautionary Tale
I recently relocated from Gurugram to Jaipur on 28th September 2024 and used Gati Max Logistics for my move (Shop Number:-40 Sector-51 Faridabad, Haryana, 121004 GST No.: 06BLWPK6388P1ZT PAN No.: AAJCG4417D Phone: 987323xxxx, 926680xxxx) Unfortunately, my experience with this company has been nothing short of distressing, and I feel compelled to share my story to prevent others from facing similar issues.
I booked the service a month prior to my move at a cost of ₹22, 000. The day before the move, I was assured that the truck would arrive between 7-8 am as requested. On the day of the move, a team arrived with a small pickup vehicle for packing, assuring me that the truck would arrive later. However, as packing finished around 1 pm, I was told that the truck wouldn’t arrive until 7 pm, significantly later than agreed upon.
When I contacted the company to inquire, they blamed me for not notifying them earlier and then demanded 100% advance payment before dispatching the truck. I refused and requested to speak with a supervisor, who explained the delay was due to unloading in Faridabad. After waiting for several hours, the truck finally arrived at 8 pm, and loading was completed by 9:30 pm. I was told the truck would reach Jaipur by 5 am the next morning.
However, when I contacted the driver at 7 am the next day, I was shocked to learn that my belongings were still in Faridabad. The company repeatedly dodged my calls, and when I finally got through, I was suddenly told that I had excess goods in the truck and would need to pay an additional ₹23, 000, doubling the total cost to ₹45, 000. They also demanded my Aadhaar Card for insurance paperwork, something that was not mentioned earlier.
My family and I repeatedly asked for a breakdown of the charges, but we received no clear explanation. Out of desperation, I sent a family member to the Gati Max Logistics warehouse in Faridabad to settle the matter. He was threatened and pressured into paying the extra amount to release the truck. Upon reviewing the final bill, I noticed the truck number had changed, meaning my belongings were transferred to a different truck without my knowledge.
Later, I contacted the driver and learned that he was hired externally and that the truck wasn’t fully covered, despite assurances from Gati Max Logistics. To make matters worse, the company had not arranged for any labor to assist with unloading, even though it was clearly stated in my package. I was left scrambling to find help, and thankfully, my family and friends stepped in during this incredibly stressful time.
For 48 hours, my family, including my elderly parents, endured immense anxiety and hardship, despite having paid a total of ₹42, 000. Gati Max Logistics failed at every step, from transparency to professionalism.
Based on my experience, I strongly advise others to avoid this company and be cautious about their promises. No one should go through this kind of ordeal. I hope this post serves as a warning to others.
