Ganapatipule is a very serene and calm beach. It is just 28 Kms from ratnagiri and 375 kms from mumbai. You can go by car or by train from mumbai. The best is janashtabdi express which run on saturday at 5.30 am from dadar station. You can reach to Ratnagiri at 10.30 in the morning. The train is very good and nice and clean. Food is extremely good and cost effective. The service is good and the scene outside are fantastic. The best time to enjoy the kokan beauty is during rainy season.
Once u reached at Ratnagiri then you can rent a car or auto. car costs about 600Rs and auto 300 Rs. There are two roads to reach at ganapatipule choose the 28 Kms one.
Take care that you select the hotels which are run by MTDC which are the best. The rent varies from 300 to 2000. You can take tent for four people for Rs.300/day and deluxe room for 800 rs/day and bunglow for 2000 Rs/day or Konkani House for 800 rs/day.
All the houses are good and the view is nice from the hotels.
Ganapati temple is nearby and it is a traditional construction well situated at the beach.
There are some water sports also available.
For food you can go to Joshi Khanaval which is near by apart from MTDC hotels as it tastes great!
The beach is wonderful and take care during low tide.
I think you must visit the place once.
Never forget to collect some Konkani recepies at the shops such as Kokam sarbat.
