Ganaptipule is located on the Konkan coast of India. It is famous for its swayambhu(self-originated) idol of Lord Ganesha, which is believed to be very powerful. The nearest station is Ratnagiri. Ganpatipule is around 32 kms from Ratnagiri Station. There are two routes to reach here. One is longer i.e. to take an auto from Ratnagiri Station to Ratnagiri bus depot and then take a bus from there to Ganpatipule.

This route is approx. 50 kms as the bus goes through villages and will take almost 1 and half hours. The second way to reach here is to book an auto direct to Ganpatipule. The auto will charge 500 bucks. This way is really convenient and shorter. One more advantage to this route is that Auto will take you through the coastal line with a breathtaking view.(Please see the pictures).

There are a couple of resorts to stay. Also, MTDC resort is right next to the temple on the beach side. If you can get a booking in that, there is nothing like it. It is always better to make a prior booking. Ganpatipule beach has a lot of visitors on weekends. The beach has a decent crowd. The temple is right on the beach. It must be awesome view during monsoons when the water would reach really very close to the temple.

There are also a couple of more beaches to visit, like Bhandarpule Beach, Arey- Warey beaches. These beaches are much less occupied compared to the main beach. It is advisable to visit Ganpatipule if you have your vehicle or else it is difficult to get an auto easily and also they charge you heavily. We stayed in Nakshatra Beach Resort with a great view.

The staff was ready to arrange for a two-wheeler on rent for Rs. 500/- per day with petrol extra which is again very costly as there is nothing much to go around.

Ganpatipule is a beautiful place, apt for a 1-2 days holiday. The place is good to have a peaceful weekend getaway from the hustle bustle of the city.
