Attention for patients going to Ganga hospital Coimbatore.

May 15, 2021, that was really a bad day in my life.

From Morning itself, my father felt giddiness, so we went to the hospital for checking. After finishing check-up, we stood outside the hospital. It was the very first bad accident that happened in my life. My father got paralysis attack and he fell down.

Then my running race started there itself. It was corona second wave peak time in Coimbatore districts. we started chasing beds in hospitals in Coimbatore. We could not get beds in Coimbatore hospitals as corona was very severe in that May 14, 15, 16th days. Through one of my relatives, we got the bed in Ganga hospital. I was very happy, because I don't know what would be going to happen in the forthcoming days.

After 2 hours of waiting at the entrance itself, then we were given the admission.

The very next day, the doctors checked my father and they said, in the spinal cord, C6 -C7 level he got hurted, while falling down.

They have done all the tests including the corona test.

My father got COVID positive. Even then my father's lungs and mediastinum were normal. There was no covid attack.

In the CT scan(lungs), taken on 16th May 21, everything was normal except this Ç6-Ç7 spine problem.

The doctors fixed the cervical spine surgery on 18th May 21, and the surgery went on normal. He was fine, after finishing the surgery. He was then kept in ICU for 3 days. He was fine there also.

After 4th day, he came out with a bedsore, on his back.

Originally, he had some severe saliva secretions. It became severe because of the cervical spine hurting. So the doctors prescribed surgical tracheostomy. That was fixed on that bad day 24th May 21. Morning around 10'O clock, he went for surgery.

Afternoon 2.30 p.m. my father came in the stretcher, with the helpers and nurses. Myself and my mother were inside the room.

We were watching everything.

The helpers and the nurses shifted my father from stretcher to bed. While shifting, that bad incident happened.

Someone disconnected the oxygen tube, carelessly without watching. Immediately, his head hangs down.

The nurse shouted to call all the doctors. All hurried and came, done CPR urgently. Finally, they brought his pulse back. That doctor told me that nurse delayed more than 3 or 4 minutes without connecting oxygen. So my father got an oxygen block in the brain and now he was unconscious, soon he will get normal and it was a simple thing to correct after then, he had a mental disorder behavior for two days. He got conscious on 26th May 21, they shifted my father to ICU again.

Before going to ICU, the CT scan for the lungs was again taken on 26th May 21. The doctors said that everything was normal but the right lung was a little shrunk.

But we got the real details about the scan that my father's right lung was paralyzed due to delay of oxygen supply to the brain. The doctors didn't say anything about this but they knew the real facts. So from the next day itself, they started ill-treating us and insisted us not to go to media. We requested doctors to recover my father and we promised them not to go to media. Again they kept my father in ICU, for 3 more days and 4th-day HDU, there he got a fever on 6th Day, and again they shifted my father to 5th-floor post-op ward to avoid the spreading of infection to others. His bedsore became severe. The doctors didn't know the reason for the fever. They frequently changed the antibiotics and started using higher antibiotic Colistin also. They said that the antibiotics were not working properly, due to the cervical injury and the nerves still didn't recover from the shock and it would take a long time.

After 10 days in the post-op ward, the doctors advised to do the plastic surgery for bedsore because he had no other infection and this might be the reason for the fever. Again CT scan was taken to check the lungs. Now also the right lung was also shrunk and the mediastinum displaced slightly towards the right. My father got wheezing often. 16th June 21, the plastic surgery was done with severe wheezing.

The next day morning, I went to see my father and he was fine. No wheezing. He asked for tea and milkbikies biscuits. I gave it and talked with him.

After one hour, I went inside the 4th-floor post-op ward, the doctors turned him towards one side due to bedsore. I saw on the monitor there was no pulse. The doctor checked the oxygen tube. Again it was disconnected due to the turning.

I shouted them to do CPR. Two lady doctors and two ICU nurses stood there. They blinked blindly what to do. This time, he got 'cardiac arrest'. One doctor shouted at me to get out. Another lady doctor called one male doctor to do Chest physio.

After 10 minutes, he got his pulse again but no consciousness. The doctors await 24hrs, to get the consciousness. After one day also, he didn't get consciousness. 18th June 21, 9.00 p.m. his pulse was getting down, O, God, at last my father left me. This situation should not come to anyone in this world.

If a drop of poison is mixed in a good meal, the whole meal became poisonous. Likewise, here also due to the carelessness of a few people inside this hospital, all bad incidents happened.

Once the mistake happened in case of treatment, nobody can correct the mistake also.

The people who were doing this holy profession, should take very much care as this treatment goes to save one man's life.

We know very well that my father died only because of the bad accident that happened at the disconnection of oxygen tube, on the tracheostomy.

Before the tracheostomy the CT reports were normal and after the tracheostomy, the right lung was paralyzed and he got all the problems.

We didn't go to court only in the belief that God will definitely punish the guilty people.

Let God will bless them with the same miseries, we got.

We are just helpless that God has to protect us in the future.
