I have an Insurance Policy of Future Generali for my car i20 registered in Surat. I have mentioned policy details above. Recently, My car met with an accident as a result of which the Front Bumper & a Headlight got completely damaged. There were some other damages also to the rear bumper.
The Front Bumper & a Headlight of my car got major damage during the current accident. Just because, there was one very small old damage in the front bumper the surveyor denied my claim. My car's Front Bumper & a Headlight were completely damaged during the accident. However, the surveyor(Mr. Bhavesh Ahire) denied the claim. Since I have an insurance policy that covers the damages incurred during an accident, I am entitled to get the claim for the damaged Front Bumper & a Headlight, irrespective of what the surveyor feels.
For the Front bumper, the claim has been denied stating that it has some old damage. I had not denied that fact. But irrespective of old damage to any part, if a part has been further damaged during an accident the cost of repairing additional damage that occurred during the accident should at least be passed by the insurance company. I am not asking the company to repair my old damages. I just want the company to cover my current damages for Front Bumper & a Headlight.
Instead of assisting in the matter, the surveyor is trying to prove us wrong. The surveyor visited the workshop and collected data. I am still unable to understand as to once a policy covers 100% cost of repair/ replacement of the damaged part, why the company is not passing the same and is denying claims for various items(which have been destroyed because of accident) by giving one or the other reasons. It is very disappointing to see such assistance from the insurance company's side. The manner in which the claim has been passed does not at all seem to be justified. This is in a way cheating the customer by making false promises at the time of doing insurance and not living up to them thereafter. The conditions like these deductions were never told by the insurance company.
If there is a car running on the road in Surat, there will always be some minor scratches on it. Effectively, the company has made the Zero Depreciation policy useless and is trying to recover the cost of depreciation in another way by approving incomplete/ partial claims. This was never informed to me at the time of renewing my car insurance. At the time of giving the insurance policy, many promises were made to me by representatives of the insurance company regarding the claim and the benefits. I was made to understand that the Zero depreciation policy is beneficial and you get the complete claim for the parts damaged during an accident. But the fact is totally different.
My claim has been denied for various items damaged during the accident, for one or the other reasons. Better buy a good policy from a good company. Don't buy and suffer.
