I have been using this Camera right from the days when this was initially launched in market. I had first bought Fuji finepix 2800, used it for couple of days, didn't like it much, then replaced it with Sony P70, it turned out to be a crap had to replace it aswell with Fuji finepix 3800 the very next day.
I bought this piece in US, and when I bought it, it was the highest configuration camera available in market providing 6X optical zoom (it was only camera in my budget providing so much of zoom), supporting movie mode (with both audio and video), etc. After about ~3 Years now I am very happy using it even today.
I have no plans of replacing it for the next couple of years. Follows couple of Good and bad things I have observed in this Camera:
Excellent photo qualities
Very good Optical Zoom (6X), which means no matter how far the objext is, just zoom and shoot, excellent photo quality even with Full Zoom
Printed photos with 3MP settings come out excellent
It uses normal pencil cells (4 of them), that means I need not worry much about battery charge. Anytime I run out of battery I can use normal pencil cells available in any basic civilisation :)
On the negative side though:
It needs some experience to take clear pictures, focusing is not that easy job. Little bit of training is needed here
Battery runs out without any notification of Low battery. Just dies out without any notification
Video with Audio can be taken for maximum of only 1 minute
it is bulkier, but if you need 6X optical zoom, you need to give space for lens movement, means- bigger size
Advise you to use higher power rating batteries.
