Dear Team,
My wife got admitted into the Emergency ward of your hospital in semi-conscious condition(~ 10:30 AM) and got discharged(post clinical observations & ECG) at 12: 30 PM. We were advised to get consult with Internal Medicine team to ascertain the issue and take appropriate action for further deterrence.
We duly visited Dr. Bazaz from Internal Medicine Department and were further suggested to undergo an additional set of medical investigations. we were also told to consult with Neurologist prior to undergoing the investigations done. We duly visited Dr. Khanna from Neurologist Department and were told to revisit post conducting investigations.
As advised, we went to billing to make payments for the suggested investigations by both of the Doctors. In the meanwhile - the condition of my wife deteriorated further as she started shrinking and collapsing again. I tried hard to get access of my reports and Dr. Rima Khanna promptly but couldn't despite waiting for over 45 minutes.
I further visited patient experience department to get medical attention at earliest but shunned out to get re-admission into Emergency team. The whole experience(spanning for over 8 hours) led to raise some of the serious apprehensions(duly followed by legal notice). Key of them are:
Why I had been referred to visit Dr. Bazaz(by Emergency team), if she is not competent to handle my case? I consider the only direction she provided was to drink butter milk.
Why Dr. Khanna raise personal comments on the profession of my wife? My wife is a very senior officer at State Bank of India, and raising personal comments such as bankers put zammers in their office premise doesnt go well.
Why Dr. Khanna shunned me out and was not interested to meeting post getting report? I repeated asked Dr. Khanna to see the report and advice if anything needs to be done. She denied meeting us and suggested to get CT-SCAN of brain done prior to meeting her. does the job of the doctor is limited to suggesting test?
Why Miss Shweta Oberoi & team( from Pateint Experience) asked me to get readmitted into Emergency?, rather asking Dr. Khanna / Dr. Bazaz to meet and advice some medical. They could have at-least advice rest basis the condition of patient.
Why I had to wait in que for over 50 minutes to make payments for investigations? it seems their is no access of medication / investigation for emergency patients.
Why your billing team couldnt decipher the test written by Dr. Bazaz? it seems you have placed non-trained amateur play with lives of healthy people.
What made Dr. Khanna comment on the condition of patient without even waiting for the report? she mentioned that the patient has eplipensy for sure, but report is otherwise. do I have to doubt over the report or competency of the doctor.
What made Patient Experience team to say that I specifically visit hospital to walk-around and create nuisance? I also work and thats why I paid no?
Basis the above mentioned concerns - I came to conclude that the best way to deal with negligent, unprofessional, incompetent services is through avoiding such places in future. And, ofcourse, finding the way out to get my voice heard(internally as well as legally). You shall receive a legal notice( addressing director, owner, and admin of Fortis and various departments such as Patient Care Experience Department
Billing Counter, Administration Emergency). I will try to post a date( from the competent court at earliest).
I am still under distraught state of mind as I have to deal with all of this while taking care of my wife( undergoing treatment at competent place in Gurgaon), while wasting my time / money and health of my wife.
