Recently I found myself being introduced to Ford's 'Family SUV', the Ford Endeavour TDCi. This behemoth of a machine has been around in India for sometime.

But that was with a regular turbo engine that churned out a measly 110PS. Ford realized their shortcoming in the power department, and decided to play catch up in terms of technology as well as power.

This change also brought about a new look which is not to far from the familiar face of the Endeavour, but its different enough to tell the two apart. Ford Endevour an SUV.. had a powerfull Engine, good thrust, torque which is  330Nm@1800rpm

Acceration is also great. What makes it a choice to buy is its Strong Body, Looks..... It is made for all kind of roads. Gives you ample space, with 7 seating capacity... fuel efficiency 10.3 kmpl. Surprisingly cramped interiors due to high flooring, rear passengers suffer the most. It is a great highway cruiser. The driver is the only pampered soul on board Its a must ride..

Hello

I am based in Chennai, and considering buying a used Ford Endeavour XLT 4 x 2 either 2004 or 2005 model. I would like to take a decision on my purchase based on the group's advice. I have a few queries;

1. What is a good price...for a 2004 / 2005 model that has clocked around 80000 kms
2. What is the fuel efficiency in city & highway with A/C
3. How is the running & maintenance expenditure
4. What are some of the pitfalls of buying a used endeavour, and what should I watch out for

I shall appreciate views and recommendations of this group

regards

Dear Krsihnan,

Ford cars are good but i feel they do not age well. I mean not as long lasting as marutis or hondas , the spares are very expensive. It's possible that cars like endeavour are very roughly used. i would advise you to be very c...aucious while taking a decision. Please check service history if available otherwise it could be a costly affair for you. I somehow think you should think many times before buying expensive car such as this in the second hand market.
