My friend and I have had a very bad experience. We both booked the Ecosport 1.5 Petrol Titanium AT 3 days after the launch on 25th June paying the booking amount of Rs 50, 000 and we were assured that we would get delivery in 2 months. It is now 3 1/2 months since the booking and the dealer will not even commit on the likely date of delivery.... they say they just don't know !!!!.
They have offered to refund the booking amount in FULL after enjoying interest on it for this long. After delaying the launch they had more than enough time to sort out their manufacturing capabilities. Next they should have stopped bookings once they realized they couldn't handle the quantity. But no, greed definitely won, did it not? Rs 50, 000 x several thousand bookings earning interest in their banks !!!
Not only that, they increased the price by Rs 45, 000..... BEFORE all the initial bookings have been honored, on the pretext that the exchange rate of the Rupee was falling.... utterly unprofessional and almost fraudulent. Since they have realized they possibly have a winner in the Ecosport, their arrogance knows no limits.
The company should realize that they will lose all the good will and trust of the Indian consumer and will hit the doldrums just as quick. I am deeply disappointed and upset with their unprofessional behavior. It is unlikely that I will buy a Ford product ever again and I will do my best to convince others not to trust Ford ever again. Shame, shame.
