I first came across FoodTv.com while watching a Canadian television cooking program. The website was aired on the show. I thought I would check it out but had no idea how detailed and helpful this site would be.

It offers information on every aspect of cooking and entertaining. I love to entertain. I enjoy international cooking and hate to cook the same old foods over and over again. This site offers helpful advice on all three of these areas. Have you ever had or seen a dish at a restaurant, on a cooking show or at a friends home and decided you wanted to make it?

You could very easily search for this recipe on this site. Just go to the advanced recipe search, give the name or part name of the dish, the main ingredients, country it's from or the show you might have seen it on and it will do the searching for you. The site provides info on many popular chefs from programs such as, Emeril Live, Martha Stewart, Julia Child, East meets West, Iron Chef, The Two Fat Ladies and many, many more.

No need to watch their shows and feverishly try to copy the ingredients as they flash across the television screen. Now, simply write the show and the recipe names down and go to the website, then search, find and print. There is much more than recipes to be had on this site, as well.

The site offers a wine recommender, random recipes, fat and calorie calculator and an encyclopedia to look up what an ingredient you might not be familiar with is, such as a spice or specific cut of meat or even search for ingredient substitutions. You can also search out cookbooks, there are contests and cooking show schedules. Even times and places for live cooking events across the country. Got a favorite recipe you want to share with the world, go to their recipe exchange forum or the chat-rooms.

I have found entertaining ideas such as menu planning, helpful as well. Need holiday recipes for those times of years, it's all there. I have bookmarked the site and visit it often. It's both entertaining and informative, helpful and easy to maneuver around, this delightful site.

I fully recommend Foodtv.com to anyone who loves to eat and cook.
