I ordered the Moto x 2nd generation phone on the 3rd of November 2014, the promised delivery schedule was 7th of November 2014.
I checked the tracking information on the website on the 5th and found that the package had not moved from Bangalore.I called up Flipkart and intimated them of the same, requesting them to ensure the delivery was made within the promised time of 7th. They outright promised me delivery on or before 7th.
On 6th, I found that the package had not left Bangalore so I called them up again, I lodged a complaint(141106036057 through Mr. Shakti) requesting for timely delivery. I was assured through emails & phone that my package will definitely be delivered by the EOD of 7th.
On 7th morning I found that the package had still not left Bangalore so I called customer support & was assured that the tracking information was not updated, product will be delivered by evening. email response from them was on similar lines.
7th evening I lodged a complaint(141107054314 through Mr. Sayed). He divulged that the package was still in Bangalore and there is no way it could be delivered by EOD. I asked him for the next probable date and he was supposed to get back to me by the EOD with the details.
Update, November 8th 2014.
I receive a call at 6pm, from flipkart executive saying that they have investigated, result: they have no idea of the whereabouts of my consignment. They cannot promise the delivery date at all now. Perhaps the consignment is lost in transit!
Then the executive offers me an alternative, he could cancel the consignment & reschedule a fresh one that would reach me around the 13th of November. He offered me a compensation of Rs. 300 for the late delivery(perhaps taking his clue from Dominos?).
Requested a call back from Flipkart on November 10th 2014 morning.
The executive who called asked for permission to reschedule the delivery so that I receive the consignment on the 14th. I asked him 2 questions;
Can he convince me to hold on till the 14th when I actually bought this phone out of necessity as my current phone has developed problems?
Can he guarantee the delivery by the EOD of 14th?
Whereas the CS representative could not convince me on the former, he failed to guarantee delivery by the 14th EOD too.
Finally, I cancelled the order & asked for a refund of my money. Understanding that I can't buy the Moto x from a store. I now have to get something else.
