Shankar Mahadevan has an absolutely brilliant soul filled voice. Apart from being a great music director (check out my review on Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy), he's also a very powerful singer. There's a power in his voice which makes you want to stand up and shout. He can also sing for a long time without letting his voice go, a talent I still have to master. Its impossible to choose out his 5 best songs, so i'm just mentioning 5 of his song which I like -

Even though this song is only around 2 minutes long, the vocals are amazing. I can't imagine any other singer singing it. He brings this song to life. His voice really is amazing. He hardly pauses and its continuous 2 minutes of singing. I doubt whether even Sukhwinder Singh would have been able to do it!

Shankar Mahadevan does lively in this track. Its a sweet track with nice https://lyrics.Shankar Mahadevan again brings life to what would have been a very simple song. Its a foot tapping number. Go listen to it!

Shankar Mahadevan adds a typical Punjabi feel to this track and shows just how versatile a singer he is! He can adapt to any sort of song, and again, I can't imagine any other singer doing it except for him. The rap bits in the middle tend to get a bit annoying, but Mahadevan's vocals make up for it!

Again, Shankar Mahadevan shows his versatility in this slow poetic number. He can shout, he can balle-balle, he can be romantic, what can't he do.? This song generally is a beautiful song and the lyrics are lovely. The vocals are nice by S Mahadevan as well!

How can I forget this song from my list? This is truly one of the most moving and inspirational songs i've ever heard in my life. It really does inspire you. Shankar Mahadevan's voice takes this already great song on to deeper heights. This song just shows you how brilliant a singer he is. He definitely is one of the most underrated singers around. Try and imagine anyone else singing this song.would it work?
