I don't do a whole lot of reading any more. Actually, I get into spells where I can do nothing but read and then get out of that spell and not read anything for years, except of course my bible, which for me is the best book in the world. And of course the lessons I teach, I read those books.
I guess I like just about any type of Spiritual book and I guess I do read those more. When I have lessons to teach and I am preparing for them, I have spread out on my bed, several bibles; several study guides and the workbook. My children come into my room and see all of this and politely leave me alone for they know mama is busy and that it is not a good time!
There are some great places out there where you can shop for books. You can always go to your local stores, yard sales, the Internet, Discount Book Stores or even Flea Markets. Some of the best places that I have found that work great for me are listed below for you.
One
As far as shopping for books on the Internet I always go to https://buy.com for my first search and almost each time I buy from them. The only time that I have not bought from them was because they didn?t have what I needed. When I getting ready to teach a new bible class at church that requires workbooks, https://buy.com will always have what I need and for the lowest price.

Of course over the weekends I sometimes like to yard sale. Not often but occasionally I do find great deals at yard sales. I have never been to one that didn't have some sort of books. And they are by far the cheapest place! Got a weekend free? Hit the yard sales in your area.

Of course the Mall offers a variety of bookstores that offer a variety of books. You can find just about any book you are looking for at this type of places. The price will vary though from store to store. You can even find sometimes that book you had looked all over for and were unable to find. Most of these stores will have their books listed in ABC order for you under the different types of books, which makes shopping a lot easier.
Some of them will also offer you a discount buying card where you can get points for each purchase as well as larger discounts for your purchases. Some of these stores offer a place to sit down and read, have some coffee, a play area for the children and even a play area for the big kids! You can find solace in some bookstores.

But, the best stores are the used bookstores. They usually will have that hard to find book you are looking for or that romance novel, you know the ones, the 2 in a series of 3! I have been able to finish my collections of romance novels many times by going to the used book stores.
Now one of the problems I have ran into with the used bookstores is that they are dusty and they also don?t offer ABC order for their books. And they also will have the books still in boxes, which I don't like because I have to dig through them. It is bad enough when I have to search for the books when they are not in ABC order! I usually will not stay at a used bookstore if I have to search to hard. It is not worth my time. Although, I have found some used book stores to be great. All the books were in ABC order under the type of book! And the places were not dusty!

Discount book stores that you will find at Outlet Mall Stores are great also. Here you will always find a large variety of books at great prices. Sometimes as much as 70 percent off! This is a huge savings! I have also found books to be as much as 90 percent off! I have found many books for my grandchildren at these types of stores and of course this always makes a great gift for the grandbabies. I know I love to get them those types of books that will help them to learn. The ones that have the sounds that go with the pictures are cute and a lot cheaper at the discount stores.
You will find that the books here are new ones. I have also found great prices for Bibles and if you know anything about Bibles, they get very expensive. So, look at discount book stores first if you can. Sometimes there are Religious Discount Book Stores available.
Final Thoughts
I have listed my favorite five places to buy books and I am sure that I can come up with some more but to stay within the category I will stop now.
The most important thing is to shop around for the books you are looking for. When in doubt, try your local library first before buying.
And always enjoy your time at the book store. Don?t go when you are rushed because you will not get the best price and you may not get the book you actually wanted.
Shopping for books is a big deal to me. I like to take the books and look at them before I buy them if at all possible. I also like to compare prices. Sometimes though when I need a book fast the book stores at the Mall are where I will go, but if I have the time or can make the time, it?s the discount stores. Yard sales are a cheap way to find books but you may not find specific books there but then again, sometimes you luck up. And of course my favorite online place, https://buy.com, is where I look for rare books, or books for my bible classes and I do admit that https://buy.com, will not always have the best price so I will go elsewhere.
