Aamir Khan is definitely one of the most talented actors of Bollywood. He has been in the industry for over 16 years and he is only getting better. Without wasting any further time, I would like to jump to the topic. So here is my list on the best movies of this great actor::
Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak
Aamir Khan's debut movie as the leading actor signalled the arrival of a great actor. The story of the movie was a typical hindi love story, where the two families hate each other and their children fall in love and they are opposed by their families. A few things however, made this movie special. One, the performance of Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla. Two, one of the best music ever in a hindi movie by Anand Milind. With songs like:-
Papa Kehte Hain Bada Naam Karega
Aey Mere Humsafar, Ek Zara Intezar.
Akele Hain To Kya Gum Hai
Gazab Ka Hai Din, Dekho Zara
the movie has got to be a big hit. Another strength of the movie was its ending which I wouldn't disclose here for those(I wonder if there are any), who haven't seen this movie.
Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar
The best movie about high school life ever in bollywood. It had it all, the crushes, the true love, the ambition to win, the hatred, jealousy, fights, day dreaming, expectations of the parents etc. Mansoor Khan directed this movie and Jatin Lalit did the music honors. I don't think I need to write more about this one. Because if I get started I'll keep going.
Akele Hum Akele Tum
This was surprisingly a flop movie. According to me this was the most realistic movie about a Husband wife relationship. Aamir Khan, who more often than not was seen as a college going young lad, proved his versatility as an actor by doing the role of a father. Aamir Khan's acting in this movie was so brilliant that he won everyone's affection as a struggling father. The household problems Aamir and Manisha face in this movie were so common that almost everyone can relate to them.
Lagaan
One of the best movies in the history of Indian cinema. Aamir Khan was brilliant as usual in this movie, but the man who deserves a pat on his back is the director of the movie, ''Ashutosh Gowarikar''. He convinced Aamir Khan to make a movie on cricket. (Aamir Khan is the producer of this movie). Aamir had earlier done a movie on cricket produced by Dev Anand titled, ''Awall Number'' and it ended being a horrible movie. The script of Lagaan demanded a much better budget, much better actors, availabily of land for the setting (Mid 1800's). Aamir was superb in the lead role and one can't imagine anyone else doing this role other than Aamir Khan.
Dil Chahta Hai
I have seen this movie countless times and I can't wait for the end of my semester so that I can see this movie again. Farhan Akhtar had a dream debut as a director of the movie and it gave a new lease of life to the other actors of the movie, Akshay Khanna, and Saif Ali Khan. The music of the movie was excellent to say the least by Shankar Ehsaan and Loy. The fans were delighted to see Aamir back as a college going, fun loving, spoiled brat. Inspite of so many other stars in the movie, Aamir's performance stood out and he deservingly was pointed out as the best feature of the movie.
The title of this review permits only five movies but I can't help thinking about a lot of other excellent movies by Aamir Khan that I couldn't include in my review and trust me guys it was a very tough decision. So I would like to mention the names of a few more brilliant movie of Aamir Khan. Hopefully you guys can remind me about more of his movies in the comments section.
