Ad film makers usually have a tough time making films for soft drinks. Its not easy at all - all tricks of the trade have already been used up in the cola and orange-soda wars.
And so it happens that Fanta finds itself a certain Ms Rani screechy-voice Mukherjee to jump around the ad sets. Ms Rani Mukherjee can be good sometimes. Sometimes. During the other times she usually gets onto your nerves. Shes trampled many of mine already!
So whats the concept to sell orange-soda? Make a snazzy female harass a guy and give lecture about the ways of life. Hmmm...original! The guy actually seems to be a gentleman. He makes a comment about a passing girl, and tries not to be loud, so as not to offend the girl. But as his ill luck would have it, Rani Sharp-Ears Mukherjee is accompanying the girl. Poor guy gets sheepish listening to Rani's lectures on life (now available in 2 volumes, paperback, on the stands - price unknown) and turns into Dolly the sheep, and vanishes from the frame. That leaves you and me with Rani's exaggerated facial contortions on the tube.
So I get this message - open your dil (thats heart in hindi folks). And do what? Wait - wasnt this about something to drink? No no, dont bother about that, its not important. Im now very curious about that guy with the roving eye. Where is he? Wheres that beautiful girl that he roved his eyes on? Which airport is that they are showing here? Seems to clean to be true? Is it an Indian airport? For gods sake, get Rani out of my screen!
