My brother bought Ericsson T28, I being a cell phone freak always wanted to use his cell phone so I asked him if he can exchange for sometime he straight away refused to exchange, anyway I wasn’t hurt I knew it was his new cell phone and he is very particular about his things.
But after few weeks he himself came to me and asked me if I would like to exchange my Nokia 8210 with his, I wasn’t surprised I thought may be he had enough with his cell phone.
After changing the Sim card I charged the cell at night and in the morning I took it to the office. We had a meeting with “RSM” (Regional Sales Manger) on an important topic. So I turned my cell phone on the Vibrator and kept on the table. We all were busy in the meeting and my cell phone had answered the call on its own. It was my friend who called and he thought that I am on line and busy with something so he waited for 5 minutes for me to say hello.
I would have never got to know unless my friend wouldn’t had called me in the office, he told me that my phone was on and he could hear everything, when I checked my cell phone I saw that the flip was open. Oh man what if it would have been some important conversation and someone else would have heard. I decided to be careful.
I thought may be it was my mistake, but it happened again and again whenever I kept the cell on vibrator it opened up when anybody would call. Ok may be the flip had become loose but it was hardly used, not even a month. Though I had charged it the battery went off till evening.
Whenever there was a call and I tried to take out the phone out from my pocket it opened up answering the call, though before answering the phone sometimes I like to look at the number and than decide if I should pick up the call or not, but because of the VERY active flip I had to answer some calls unwillingly.
I asked my brother if he had similar problems, he started laughing and said he-he that was the reason I exchanged my cell with yours.
Ericsson T28 has some good features,
But……………………………
;…..
What I feel is
This phone is been poorly designed, ok I agree it’s light and small but what’s the use when it doesn’t meet my expectations. Failure in battery is the biggest problem of this phone. I found the menu system very slow, less than a month and the latch that keeps the flip out part of the phone from flipping out had become loose. Very often the phone would switch off by its own and would ask for Sim card. In two months we had to take our cell to the dealer for almost 6-8 times.
Ok let me mention what feature this cell phone has and how it functions.
1-Small phone (Measuring 2.5x 1.3x .4 inches, weighing 83 grams, that’s great)
2- Antenna (the biggest antenna than any portable phone.)
3- Active flip (which is so active that it keeps on opening on its own)
4- Voice dialing (10 spaces, can make a call by simply saying their name which is stored in the phonebook, but it only connects after 5-6 attempts.)
5- Vibrating alert (whenever it vibrates it opens up the flip)
6- World clock (updates the time when the user moves from one time zone to another)
7- Phone Book (can store up to 99 names)
8-Ring tone (is so soft you can hardly hear in open areas than you can imagine about crowded areas.)
9-Battery life is too short you have to recharge it everyday.
10- Games: -Tetris and Solitaire (it takes lot of time to move the keys/cards that it makes almost impossible to play.)
11- Colors (Grey and Blue)
12- Calculator
13- Stopwatch
14- Alarm
Etc.. Etc……………………
One thing I found quite bugging that the phone doesn’t reset to the Main screen itself I mean to say if I make a call and after finishing the call it doesn’t automatically come to the main screen the timer remains on the screen and I have to press No to come out of the timer screen to go back to the Main screen.
The one feature I like is the little switch on the side of the phone, by pushing the switch down (three times) you can see how much talk time and standby time you have left.
As for the charger, the phone comes with a wall charger, but the plug is kind of weird you have to hold the plug in an upward angle and then insert it and you must do the same in order to remove the plug. It’s quite bugging at times.
They do have an Ericsson T38 now and I've heard its good, but I am so disappointed with Ericsson T28 that even a cell phone addict like me will be staying away from this phone. I gave back the cell to my brother and even he gave away the cell phone and bought Nokia, which is the best of the best phone I have seen.
Now I never like to exchange my cell phone with anyone. I am very happy with my Nokia 8210
