For a change in my grocery shopping spree, I thought of visiting the expensive Foodhall store in Lower parel. There I was in search of a thick yoghurt brand and some great flavoured ones, since I love all things yoghurty. I spotted a Greek Yogurt called Epigamia Greek Yogurt. The name itself was very exotic and intriguing with some interesting historic origins to it explained on the side of the tub/cup. Mostly about the union of Alexander the Great & Chandragupta Maurya, West meets East, I guess.I also liked there attractive packaged tubs with lovely art work.
It was thicker and creamier like been whisked or something than regular yogurt brands like Danone . What I liked about this brand of yoghurt is the different unique flavours that I have not found anywhere else till date. Like they have been experimental in their flavours and have created tantalizing flavours like Honey Banana, Mulberry, Imlee Chutney, Alphonso Mango, Strawberry, Minty Chaat and Khatta Meetha, . I like the Mulberry and Khatta Meetha a lot.
They claim it to be healthier but from my experience it did make ma fat after a few days as it contains lot of sugar.I use it mostly for making my Dahi wadas and no bake cheesecakes also at home. They are a hit in the family. For me it was expensive as its priced at INR. 38 per 90 grams cup.But then again it’s a western gourmet product so the price is obvious. In Mumbai, I have noticed that Epigamia Greek Yogurt is available in Godrej Nature’s Basket and Foodhall.
