When we were shopping around for doing up our apartments one of the key items on the List was a built in Hob that is useful with our style of cooking. My dad had got a Faber hob 2 years back and it ended up a useless showpiece in the kitchen with my Mother relying on a old fashioned Butterfly counter top hob for the cooking. The major problem with Faber was the Burner design which had the flames coming out of only the outer edges of the burner making it suitable only for Flat pans suitable for the PANs and flat bottomed vessels more common Europe. For our utensils, it was not suitable with most of the heat dissipating at the sides leading to wasted cooking gas. When the company claims it is an italian design, we should also recognize it might be more suitable for Italian cooking.
Ebco on the other hand, specifically the model listed above has designs that is suitable for the Indian kitchen. This model that we purchased had brass burners with black enamel coating and have flame holes on the inner side and top side of the burner which gives a better heat distribution for our style of cooking.
They have multiple burner combination but we selected the stated one as ideal for our three member family. We bought it from the EBCO dealership right beside EMC in Kochi and had a pretty decent experience as a customer. The sales people were friendly and knowledgable as well as accomodative. Though not exemplary there were no complaints on the service front.
We have since then, recommended EBCO to many of our friends who were looking out for a burner. One of our friend's have been using the product from ebco for more than 3 years without any complaints.
Their fitting service and after sales support in Kochi is also quite good.
