ELAAN: One movie I was waiting for about a month till the day ( friday, 14/01/2005 ) I end up watching it..........and it was a bad experience considering the expectations.
Well, lets talk in detail about it:
Music: Music is not at all good. With a movie of such a big budget it should have been well though, but I think director didn't at all considered music to be one of the USPs.
The Story- Well, its a revenge story, nothing new. But the story was just ok to give enough room to director to create a perfect action thriller which he failed. Though I think that the end could have been better and at times it loses the grip. It should had been better as the music also was not good.
Director-Vikram Bhatt- Elaan is supposedly an action based movie and there's nothing much to talk about even action in it. Even Vikram's Awara Pagal Diwana, which was a comedy has better action sequences......a total let down by the director. He failed to dress up the story with proper action sequences. The director seemed to lack energy in the second half of the movie and it seems that movie is hurriedly coming to its end.
Cast-Mithun- He didn't get enough exposure in the negative shade. The much he got, he did justice to it, no doubt he got the national award in his very first appearance-MRIGYA. His dialogues could have had more impact rather than mere ''...mujhe woh poora haath chaahiye jisne mutthhi ban kar baba sikandar ki taraf badhne ki jurrat ki hai...''
Cast-Rahul- Well boss you disappointed us ! He is in the lead role ( storywise ) but except for a few emotional sequences he failed to act strong enough to do justice with his character. He was unable to bring expressions at times when required and even his dialogue delivery is not upto the mark, it lacks emotions. He can learn a lot from Akshaye, remember the way he delivered in Hulchul ''...mein aaoonga aur use le kar jaoonga, hota hai jo karle jaa...''
Cast-John Abraham- He's good. Again after dhoom he portrayed his character with the usual flair. In action sequences also he looked good.
Cast-Amisha- She's there because of her relation with vikram bhatt rather than the story requirement, I believe. The movie is as complete as now without her. She's gained a lot of weight and looked bulky.......
Cast-Lara- Well, she was the one to expose and sing and thats it.
Cast-Arjun Rampal- He's amazing. I believe he's in line with akshay kumar and ajay devgan, the leading two action heroes in bollywood. His character was well written and he did justice to it. Infact most of the times story seemed to be moving on his shoulders rather than on rahul's. Hats off !
Overall: All in all, its good in pieces and a blunder overall. A certain no no.
