I have been purchasing from eBay for as long as I can remember and have purchased products worth well over 40K rupees.
But now, eBay is nothing more than a marketplace for fake and counterfeit products. I recently purchased a men's cologne which turned out to be fake as hell. I raised a claim under eBay Guarantee which promises 100% Satisfaction Guarantee or Replacement/ Refund and my claim was rejected because the seller apparently sold me a product that was "as per description". So this means that even if the seller would have sold me a bottle filled with water carrying the label of a cologne, it is still legit and "as per description". Of course, the seller didn't mention in his ad that the product he is selling is fake.
This is hilarious to say the least, eBay contacted me and said that they cannot help me with this and left me to get it resolved with the seller, who is surprisingly a Power Seller on eBay, how he could be a Power Seller by selling fake products, no one knows.
Anyways, my advice is to avoid ebay, unless you're ready to take the hassle of resolving your complaints yourself, since eBay will refuse to help you.
With the emergence of several other top e-com sites, eBay is facing a tough competition anyways and with this level of support - I wouldn't be surprised if they have to close down operations in India within a few years
Seller in question - https://ebay.in/usr/onlinemegastore06 - they have 99.5% positive reviews and still sells fake products.
