Okay...... since I was 5 years of age I have been watching movies, and my special love is shared by good action movies.( but of course I also love other Genres of movies) I have mostly watched John woo, tsui hark , Walter hill, james cameron and some other actionfilms which also include Bollywood action- movies and among these action movies in Hindi cinema these r my top five : 1) agneepath
2) sholay
3) Ziddi
4) culcutta mail
5) Hamesha ( well it was more a love-movie but had very good action and superb cameramaning)
and guess what DUS would not even make it to my Top 100 ..
sure people want to know Why am I saying that ..
well let me try to explain it. ...What does a good action movie consist of :
1) good storytelling ( even if the plot is not demanding as such), which means that the stroy and the acting by the cast must touch me emotionally somehow
2) action movies should be fast-paced, not only the action itself but also the eye of the camera, the way the camera catches a scene, be it the arrival of the hero or villain ( i.e in Agneepath when Amitab Bachan is grown up and returns to his village and has just finished off some bad guy who was responsible for his fathers death, Danny -the big villain arrives in his black car-the camera turns around that car --some dashing music in the background---then camera turns around amitabh bachan who is seeing his foe´s arrival and the camera just keeps on moving,..yaar kya samjaoo u all know that seen,.) The way the camera moves within a certain scene, all this must bound the spectator´s attention.
3) actions scenes as such must be mind-blowing, breathholding , people who r watching action movies should scream for a seat belt...
And all that what I have mentioned above is not the case with DUS. I dont know whats wrong with some Bollywood action-film directors today, only cause John Woo uses some slow motion in lets say FACE OFF it does not mean that doing the same will make u a John woo- right?. ..
see watching an action scene of FACE OFF means the following: Some great actors staring at each other --acting top class --making dangerous-sounding dialogues , then suddenly it goes quiclkly bang bang bang, then slow motion for some 3 seconds to make the scene look elegant but it will not lose its pace cause then again fast pacing bang bang bang , stunts executed in real speed, shoot outs in quick time mixing the flavor of elegant slow motion....
even if it comes to martial arts or combat scenes it goes bang bang bang, u know quick but superbly choreographed ( tiger and dragon, Matrix, Unleashed, Heat, Collateral, Gladiator,). Even thai films like Ong bak can show bollywood how it s done......
Dus is built up by slowmotion boring action scenes and has nothing that could make u scream for more except shilpa shetty-- some nice songs-- and some nice comedy by Z.khan.
For my liking there r only my top 5 action movies which deserve to be called action movies in HINDI CINEMA and they r listed above. ..

so please dont expect great action if u wanna watch this movie...
