My thoughts on Dunkirk
4* /5
Direction & Cinematography - Beautiful looking, Well executed war sequences, Camera movements, and Compositions were on point.
Opening scene - The movie grabbed me from the first shot itself
Hans Zimmer - it compliments the visuals and sometimes carries the movie during silent parts
Situation focused - The characters won't have much of a depth but it doesn't feel the movie is lacking it as the movie is focused on an event.
Survival - Movie has interesting to say about the survival. Some sacrifice it for others, some people change, some may get their hands dirty.
Typical Nolany thing- He twists and turns the timelines in the movie as he is used to.
I liked the idea of the flight action scenes which was only shown through the perspective of a pilot. This gives limited information and much more
tension
We don't see the enemies. This is a brilliant idea
The twisty screenplay - I liked the different timelines( its obvious its nolan the style of film making)
enough tension - I was thrilled n holding my breath as the directed intended.
