I recently had the absolute worst car buying experience with Driveway. What was supposed to be a convenient online purchase turned into a nightmare due to their unprofessionalism and lack of communication.
Firstly, the car I selected was falsely advertised as a hybrid when it was actually a regular gas vehicle. While they acknowledged the error, there was zero compensation provided which was unacceptable.
The documentation process was tedious, rushed and disorganized. Their representative was discourteous and made everything more difficult when I questioned her attitude. I was given unreasonable timelines to submit documents or threatened with restarting the process.
Driveway sent incorrect paperwork with wrong company names forcing delays in bank payments. There were mismatches between invoices and final paperwork that I had to compensate for due to their errors.
The delivery was timely but the luxury car had issues like low tire pressure warning, problems with the AC and key fob not working. Of course these are now considered normal wear and tear so I have to get them fixed at my own expense.
Overall, this was by far my worst car buying experience. From false advertising, paperwork errors, poor communication to delivering a faulty vehicle - Driveway was unprofessional and a nightmare to deal with. I learned my lesson about risks of online purchases the hard way.
Unless you want endless hassles and delays, I strongly advise avoiding Driveway. Don't make the mistake I did. For any car buyer, choose reputed local dealers who will actually provide good customer service. Driveway doesn't care once they have your money. An awful experience I hope no one else faces.
