One more of my comprehensive review, but this is the 1st time am writing a review with a NO RECOMMENDATION.. There are various reasons beyond this which ill explain further..
Nowadays its become a trend for every youth to visit malls, expensive showrooms etc etc.. These places are best suited for those people who meet after long time, reunions..people who wanna relax..play games..have quality lunch/dinner etc.. It makes the youth nostalgic if they don't visit malls for a week..Its kind of a hangout place for the youth in a sense. I myself go to malls every week to get myself good apparels..at times fruit juices etc. The ambiance in malls are mostly very friendly with mixture of retro as well as recent music going on.. So nowadays we can see more and more youth attracted towards malls..and as this is the festive season even more people visit mall for buying dresses and various ornaments. I am gonna review one of the mall which I will surely not recommend to any of my friends..
Why did I visit this particular shopping mall/store?
As I stay near-by this mall..i keep visiting this mall every 1st of the month..as there are discounts on GELETO ICE-CREAM So I just make a visit to this mall once a month..that too coz I love ice-cream..
This mall had started just a few years back, and it had claimed that the mall was ASIA BIGGEST MALL..Hearing at this claim I was very excited about it..but trust me..my excitement dint live for much longer.
Obviously every product has its own drawback as well as advantage..but we as human being decide whether it is good or bad for us..difference in view obviously arise as every person have their own unique perception and thinking
If I was to rate this mall..i would not rate it 0/5 or 1/5..That would be injustice to the mall..because I feel there are many bad aspects but looking at the brighter side I would rate this mall as 2/5..but my recommendation still stands firm as a big NO
As explained I go to this mall only once a month..prior to this, when the mall actually started I used to go every week and trust me it was a great feeling..the ambiance was superb..but now things have changed over the years
MY EXPERIENCE
I was in the first year of my degree and I used to go quite often to this newly inaugurated mall, as I used to meet my friends of my junior college..but as days passed I started getting bad vibes from this place..being situated nearby the station and surrounded by a very rowdy area..this mall started attracting the in-descent people residing in the surrounding rowdy area..
I still remember this vivid incident..i accidently dashed a person in the mall who was drunk, and he started giving me bad words..the surrounding people really did a good job by calming down things.. I then made up my mind that I wouldn't meet any of my friends in this mall and would rather prefer calling them home..
This short incident made me really wonder..that is this mall really a safe house for people visiting this mall?
What did I like and dislike about this shopping mall/store?
First ill describe the things that I don't like about this mall..
--> Unguarded place : This is the worst drawback of this mall..This mall is so huge that there are many unguarded places..around a year back, there were many shops in the mall yet to be inaugurated and the shop shutter weren't locked and a couple had been caught inside the shop with the shutters down..they were caught by the mall staffs as some outsider complained there were some strange noises coming from a closed shop..This was a true and shocking incident after which the shutters of every shop were locked..It was heights of shamelessness.. Don't know as to what action was taken on the couples..but imagine u with your mom dad visit a mall and encounter such a situation (O_o)
--> Does the food court has Air conditioners? : Initially when the mall was inaugurated few years ago, the food court was great as there were retro-stylish music played..and the cooling was awesome and pleasant..but recently around a year ago..they just keep few AC vents on..and it gets damn hot during noon time..especially when people have food..
--> Sofa no more exist at this malls food court : This mall initially had soft sofa's which gave a feel of awesome comfort..but as time passed they removed the sofa's and nowadays there are wooden chairs with tables.
--> No much international brands : There aren't much international brands here, no dominoz, no pizza hut, no MacD's, no KFC's, no poptates..these are some brands which are present at every mall by default..this mall doesn't have any of them..There are many, not so useful shops like small farsan shops which don't give good discounts also..There is just SUBWAY which is one of the international brand. What pisses me off is that why should there be local sandwich shops at such big malls? Instead have an MacD's or a dominoz?
--> No Big wholesale market : Normally malls have big wholesale shops where in people can buy many items at discounted price..here there is no wholesale market with huge discounts..i prefer going to METRO MALL which is in bhandup only..there are many coaching institutes like NIIT..
--> Its been almost 2 years but still the same : This mall still has around 20% shops which aren't open, which sums it that the business is not going great guns in this mall..
--> Always under-construction - This mall is always under construction, and this creates a problem for people visiting this mall as they have to find alternate ways.
--> A bit confusing this mall is as its very big : This mall gets a bit confusing as its big..there aren't much indications as to which outlets is where an all..
Few things that I liked about this mall
--> Kulraj broadway : A 6 screen multiplex which features all the newly released movie..has gained a lot of popularity since recent times as there are various offers on several days for the movies..Its become one of the certain attraction of this mall.. There are many offers on Monday and Wednesday for movies..As of I remember, on Mondays ticket rates are between 59-89 and that's very cheap..and the theater is also very nice and big..6 movies runs at a time simultaneously at an gap of 15 mins between every movie.
--> Few good outlets present : Brands like geleto..sun temple..china house are a good try-outs..Amul ice-cream are also there
--> Ample car parking space : As the parking is in the basement of the mall..it has ample car parking space..and the parking charges are also not that high
--> The bowling alley is way too cheap : The bowling alley is very cheap especially on a particular day it gets even more cheaper..around 20 balls for 70 bucks..that's too good..
--> Shootings take place here : Shooting takes place here at times..the chaini khaini add was shooted here by mallika arrora khan..and there are a quite a good no of dance classes in this mall for B-boeing..salsa etc (Sorry if the spelling is wrong :-P )
Other options available : Prefer Neptune magnet mall which is 10 mins by walking from bhandup station..or even nirmal lifestyle can be a good option which is situated at mulund..
Final words : A mall where there are public display of affection (PDA)..Surely not recommended for elderly people..but the youth can give it a try once just coz of the pros I've mentioned..
Hope there are no controversies because of this as this is my 1st negative review.. and I've truly jotted down the things I've experienced :-)
