(Updated Oct 19, 2005 03:03 PM)

NOTE: My latest review and one just before it are alike because of the fact that I posted one under MOUTHPAD and after waiting for more than a day I have posted same thoughts under different category because I wanted to be timely as per as commenting on ICC SS(before it will be completely forgotten) and my both reviews are flashed back to back(One from MS and one from me) which I never meant.

Now I cant delete it (can I ?) so this review comes as POSTSCRIPT

For my detailed thoughts , I kindly request everybody to read ''ICC SS : FIGHT,FAIR AND FARCE posted on Oct 18' 05..

Thank you and Regrets..

___________

FIRST WORD :

Yes, before dust gets settled, criticism is pouring down from all corners on ICC and ICC XI.

Media as expected are criticising WORLD LOSERS (meant to be BEATERS) for not standing up to expectation and

What more ICC makes it more or less official, they will reconsider this event i.e. whether to run it every year or not...

Dream VS disappointment

It was extraordinary collapse from ICC XI

I always go for proof if I see something extraordinary...

Here’s the proof...

Figures speak...they never lie

Stats tell the facts...

Here it is...

Read in this order ( Matches innings not out total runs highest Avg)

ONE DAY WONDERS (OR BLUNDERS?)

Sehwag: 3 3 0 64 37 21.33

R Dravid 3 3 0 46 26 15.33

BC Lara 3 3 0 5 5 1.66 (???)

J Kallis 3 3 0 21 11 7.00 (?)

CH Gayle 2 2 0 54 54 27.00

TEST (Bitter in taste to read!)

BC Lara 1 2 0 41 36 20.50

R Dravid 1 2 0 23 23 11.50

Inzamam-ul-Haq 1 2 0 1 1 0.50 (????)

Their career average is zillion times better...

BOWLERS : (MATCH OVERS WICKET RUNS AVG)

Pollock 3 25 1 148 2 74.00

Shoaib Akhtar 2 17 0 110 0 -

Point to be considered:

1. Timing of the series:

JANUARY-FEBRUARY would have been ideal because most of the team have played good enough international cricket by then every season... This time around players from PAKISTAN, WEST INDIES were short of match practice...

2.Team selection and captain

In my preview of ICC SS review itself I wrote that ICC XI bowling attack was far too weak...

That was visible all through...Next time around they should consider it seriously...

Also Lack of imagination from POLLOCK during ODIS..

Getting together

I think camp of 15 days or more should be there before contest takes place..

It will be useful for ICC XI players because everyone comes from totally different culture as they come from all different continents..

So 15 day camp will serve purpose of getting known to each other.

Match schedule and Viewership

I think there should not be international matches before this events comes..

It will mean

1.Players will be mentally and physically fit and looking forward eagerly to perform..

2.Draught of Live matches for a while will mean people will be eagerly waiting for this event every time around..

LAST WORD:

Concept is in DANGER in its first outing..

But there is way to look forward..
