I was introduced to download.com when I first started surfing the net(around two tears ago). My fiance had always gone to this site for new software and such. We have a small computer business, so we would go to download.com to download programs for our different types of business files.
The best part of Download.com is that it has so much to offer to everyone. they have Software development programs, you can update system files and drivers in a snap, they have different multi media design catagories, great anti-virus downloads, sections on small business and helpful hints on your taxes and personal finance, you can download E-books, planners and calendars. I am currently taking classes over the internet for Web Hosting and download.com is a good place to go for a few tips and tricks on this subject.
My favorite parts of download.com is the different games they have to offer you...like Arcade games, Casino and Lotto. I also really enjoy their screensaver downloads, and some of their Desktop Themes are really interesting too. download.com is the best site I have found for MP3 downloads and Audio programs.
Another great feature download.com has is...on their home page, if you scroll down a little ways they tell you the most popular downloads of the week.
I can only tell you one bad aspect of this site... some things aren't free. If it says Freeware it is free, but if it says Shareware it means you do not get the full version without paying.(most of the shareware I have come across you will get it for one or two months free then you have to start paying), and some are only Demo's... and that is basically a one time deal, then you start paying.
My overall online experience with download.com has been great. Downloads are quick, the site itself is very helpful and speedy(no waiting around or refreshing all of the time) and it's lots of fun!
