Have you ever experienced shopping for coffee flavoured ice cream one fine evening, finding the products waay overpriced and then returning back home with a bunch of bath and beauty products you actually never wanted? Well, that's how I ended up with Dove's Ultimate Visibly Smooth 'wild rose' anti-perspirant deodorant. The main reason I picked this up was 'cause the packaging was a lovely rosy champagne pink and it claimed to smell like a rose. My sense of smell is pretty old fashioned(say the 50's) in that I enjoy rose, jasmine, peony, violet, gardenia, and some sweet scents like lemon, vanilla and caramel among many others. If I ever found a perfume that included all these notes I would definitely consider it my soulmate. From that tangent I now come to the actual review.......................Dove ultimate visibly smooth contains wild rose and 'pro-epil' complex which minimises the appearence of hair over time. It also further states that on using this; one is offered 24 hour protection, the product doesn't stain clothes and the underarm skin is moisturised.
As per my experience, I'd say that the product did almost everything it promised. The only exception was I didn't really notice much of a difference in the reduction of my underarm hair. Infact the rate of growth and the amount of hair on me remained the same. I never believed it completely anyways, guess its just a marketing gimmick. It did make my underarm skin really smooth though. It smelled good(kind of like rose petals mixed with pepper) and didn't create any problems associated with cloth staining or underarm wetness. The texture is powdery and yes, it does leave white residues on the underarms.
You get a huge 74 gm deo for R.O. 1.935 i.e. approx. Rs. 194. Yups, it is waay too much for an antiperspirant deodorant and the most disappointing is that the spring packaging is weak and tends to break within 2-3 days. It consists of the twist mechanism and the cap which contains the deo is really fragile, which ends up with the cap breaking off and the deo solids spreading inside the box and on your hand. If the packaging weren't so weak then the deo would've lasted for a pretty long time.
Final grade- B-, good product, but wouldn't recommend spending so much if your packaging mechanism is just as bad.
