I was previously using Fructis Shampoo and Conditioner, but I recently discovered Dove Intense Moisture Shampoo thanks to my husband. He was at Sams Club and they had a HUGE bottle of it with a pump attachment on sale. He likes to only use shampoo since his hair is fine and a bit oily so the added moisture would be enough for him to skip the conditioner. I had just run out of shampoo and decided to give it a try since he was raving about it.
I only needed to pump it one time to get an adequate amount of shampoo dispensed and it worked into a nice lather. The smell is very mild so if you do not like something with a heavy perfume, this is probably good for you. It rinsed easily out of my hair without leaving it too squeaky clean and with just enough moisture to make the hair feel silky.
I only needed to apply about half the amount of my usual conditioner because the shampoo left my hair feeling tangle free and soft. Dove calls these ''weightless moisturisers'', which is very true. It left my hair silky and soft, but it did not get oily and weighed down like some heavy moisturising shampoos.
The moment I really noticed how effective the shampoo is for keeping my hair soft and healthy was when I went to the salon for my usual 2 month trim of all the split ends and such the accumulate when a person had long hair.
The stylist said my hair was in great condition and that he would not have to add a leave in conditioner this time before combing my hair (which he usually has to do with my dry hair). He asked what I was using , and I lied and said Biolage by Matrix. If you tell a stylist that you are using a brand of shampoo you can get at a drugstore they spend 20 minutes trying to get you to buy their stuff and they tell you how bad non salon hair care is.
If you have not tried Dove shampoo and you have access to it, give it a try. I do not think you will be disappointed. A little of it goes a long way. You will also be pleased with the results for the weightless moisture and the mild scent.
