I have been on dolphin network for around 10 months and I am more than satisfied with it. I gave up my Orange corporate card and opted for this - the result is bills are around 50 to 60% lesser.
With the new rates from Oct2. 2004 being slashed to Rs.1.20 any network has further reduced bills. Moreover if you have all calls made to GSM numbers you can opt for Rs 49 scheme wherein all local GSm calls cost 90paise. Sms have been hiked from 25paise to Rs 0.50 local , Re 1 interstate, and Rs 2.50 international. Bad Luck!
Another nice part about dolphin is it has an exclusive tie-up with BSNL hence ppl can reach u even in remote villages and the call rates are cheaper than reliance even in roaming.
They almost completed the upgradation of the network and made an announcement of 4 lakh new connections (refer https://bol.net.in) with GPRS and MMS in delhi, however in Mumbai they yet have to make the announcement.
Inside buildings the network go a little low however they are installing another high capacity 270 towers so that it will be taken care of in Dec 2004.
Only prob is the roaming charge. Its Rs30 per month but you have to keep it on compulsorily on for 3 months hence charges come to Rs90. Its stupid but a fact.
With GPRS and MMS in the offing I can now make ''full'' use of my 6600.
No network prob. Best I don't pay my bills for 5 months at a stretch. They sms, with the message 'If you dont pay now your acc will be deactivated'. Then you go and pay. This way you can get an indirect credit facility at 0% int. Mind you, no late payment charges.
If anybody whose is dissatisfied with their current private operator and wants to change to someone else should shift to dolphin.
I extend my arm to everyone who is in 2 minds abt shifting to dolphin as to whether they are good, their network, do the sms reach etc. can get in touch with me here.

Mitul
P.S. From Dec. Onwards all Trump cards (not dolphin, they have to pay 30 bucks per month for 3 months) have roaming pre-activated hence no roaming charges unlike Postpaid. I suggest you to go for Trump with Rs 2600 voucher valid for 1 year.
