Yes, you do see death on it but it's their way of life. In the wild they fend for themselves, but as pets they are taking care of so need to fight for every mouthful of food they get or territory. Every animal plays a part in evolution.
If one goes extinct it throws the balance of nature off. And that is not good for humanity or the world at large. You should love all living things. They're dangerous, but not as bad as you'd think. We lose more lives in car accidents, planes, buses, or, boats than you do to wild life at any given point and time. And animals only kill to eat in most cases, though you do come across a rogue one once in a while.
