This University, which we call Dibrugarh University here in upper Assam located in the semi-urban city of Dibrugarh. Having affiliated sub-bodies spread all across upper Assam small towns and some remote areas and indeed some few in Guwahati.
The point of writing this is to inform general public, especially for students considering joining. Best change your mind and join a private university. Even IGNOU is fair enough considering this.
Why?
1. Language - Assamese only, don't expect English or Hindi. Assamese state off course.
2. Cultures - Assam only again, mainly focused.
3. Exposure to politics - At this age where studying should be a priority, it seems like politics is a more of priority.
4. Exams - This is literally a joke. I got back in 5th semester, I 1 paper. I have seen students who don't even know their subjects or anything relative to their papers getting B, and for a person like me who tried hard got back. Is this even a joke? And no matter how hard you try, getting higher marks depends on luck, not your skill.
5. Classes - Again a joke. Neither students cooperate and come to class, nor professors interested in teaching, it seems like they try to escape from social responsibilities.
6. Teaching - Now for Bachalors, Masters or PHd Or other courses, with numerical or experimental course works, things are different in this situation, as I already told you no class, theory is different. You can at least pass.
7. Behavior- Office stuff seems to see students as a disgusted trash and sometimes free cash machine. No further explanation required.
8. Communication between students and institutions- You either visit in person no other methods, phone numbers are for show. Emails either.
9. If you need certificates. You either take it yourself from University. They don't send you home.
10. Racism- Towards students by stuff and professors.
11. Bulling by professors and stuff.
There are a lot. Enough for today.
Please choose a private University. Here fees are higher but not to the extreme. As for such institutions, these fees are very high which I feel it should be waived for such pathetic University. Disgusted.
