When I first saw Dhoom, I had no real expectations. The cast had no big star, of course that has changed now. The reason I went to see the film was the super-hit soundtrack and of course the Bikes. The film was obviously aimed at the youth of India.

The plot revolves around Super-Cop Jai Dixit(Abhishek Bachchan) who is in charge of catching a gang headed by Kabir(John Abraham). With Jai is Ali(Uday Chopra), a mechanic who is also a Bike Rider. Kabir's gang do their robbery and escape on their super-quick bikes.

Oh, and there is also Sweety(Rimi Sen) who is Jai's wife. There is also Sheena(Esha Deol), who is a mysterious girl but later joins Kabir's gang.

The Music as I have said is absoultely brilliant. Dhoom Machale is my favourite and for most other people as it was the National Anthem of our country in 2004. The Action is good. The bikes are awesome. My personal favourite is John's Red and Black Suzuki.

On to the performances, Rimi Sen does not have much to do, but performs the role well. Likewise for Esha Deol, she again did not have much to do but had more scope than Rimi Sen and performed well as Sheena. Abhishek Bachchan was impressive as the cop. This is one of the few films where he shows he can dominate. He was given a lot of scope.

Uday Chopra was too good. He was very funny, of course he got this role because the film was produced by his super-powerful father and brother, Yash and Aditya Chopra respectively. He showed he is a good actor, a very impressive performance. Now to the show-stealer of Dhoom, John Abraham. Dhoom made him into a star, he was outstanding as the villian Kabir. Kabir will remain as one of the coolest villians ever. His body language and his dialogues were outstanding.

Dhoom is highly reccomended, although it can get repetitive. One of the biggest hits of 2004, Dhoom did OK at the overseas B.O. It's successor, Dhoom 2 is the biggest grosser ever in the history in Indian Cinema, it is ahead of any other film in terms of collections and it is one of the biggest hits overseas.
