Dhanaulti : A paradise amidst the clouds. Review on Dhanaulti

If you have long brooded over going on a holiday but unable to do so yet due to official commitments , family obligations, feelings of clumpsinessor innumerable other reasons ; think no further than boarding onto a tranquil trip to Dhanaulti; the quaint small town , seemingly not located on the earth but amidst the clouds.

Positioned at a distance of approximately 350 Kms from Delhi and at a height of 2250m from sea level , this pristine location dispenses it's onlookers an impeccable gaze into nature adorned with the mighty mountains, lofty trees, sprawling greenery , fluffy clouds, comforting breeze and many more nouns twined with numerous adjectives.

As soon as the bystanders sets afoot the trail, marked with a wiggling road; they are greeted by light drizzles which seem to be tainting the forests , waterfalls slitheringgently along the crevices on the rocks and a whispering breeze which seems to be beckoning one towards the priceless beauty lying ahead.

On the route lie several less known , albeit beautiful towns such as Narendra nagar , Chamba , Kanatal , Kaddu khaal etc. At Kanatal , adventure sports such as zip line , sky bridge , cycle pedalling and even more lure the tourists , who venture to undertake the excitement right in the lap of nature.

Enroute this haven of nature ;at Kaddukhal, lies another halt thronged by the visitors inthe name of Surgunda Devi temple ;which is revered by the Hindus. Though located at a mountain peak , it is approachable by foot or even by a ropeway . The air-borne track lying along the ropeway always seems to be blanketed by mist ; making the journey for the wanderlusters even more adventurous. Once atop this holy location, the bystanders can have a glimpse of the sprawling greenery, cottages with cooking fumes billowing out and teaming up with the neighbouring mist , sights of villagers harvesting land on the terraces of the valleys , animals grazing happily on the diverse fauna and a lot more.

Post-resumption of our venture and further advancing 10 kms ahead , lies the abode of beauty enwrapped seemingly in a shawl of mist . The lofty mountains homed here seem to be playing with the naughty clouds , which rush up and down the valleys only disappearing briefly after sighting the sun’s rays on their way.

Sipping hot simmering tea and silently witnessing the playful acts of these adorable elements of nature whilst being tickled by the cool breezeis the activity gleefully enjoyed by the visitors .

Hoard of visitors is seen predominantly at the Eco park , where artificial structures including swings , sea-saws , open arenas with canopies , stumps of woods have been orchestrated to produce a sight apt for taking vivid snaps by the tourists. Besides the availability of ferns in abundance , the fertile soil offers the perfect landscape for farming of cabbages , apples , potatoes etc. while innumerable flora still remain unexplored.

At the onset of dusk , a thick layer of clouds embraces the region ; this time seeming to protect the mountains from the shivering cold .The enlightment of the terrain by scanty lights emanating from lodges , restaurants , cottages in the valleys as well as that rebounded from the moon (which seems to be in the near proximity) , against the backdrop of darkness converts the region into an enchanted land.

As night prevails , all flora and fauna including the spectators fall asleep to wake up rejuvenated and continue on to their endless journeys in the pursuit of happiness.
